THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 422

M was a renowned violinist.

"Yes, I do like her quite a bit," Caitlin replied.

Gordon nodded slightly.

They finished their breakfast.

The two strolled back side by side.

Gordon held Monday’s leash, while Caitlin cradled Snow in her arms. They chatted quietly as they walked, making such a charming picture that people passing by couldn’t help but stare.

"Stop the car!"

At that very moment, a sleek luxury car rolled past them. In the backseat, a young woman caught sight of the scene—and it was like a dagger in her eyes.

The driver hit the brakes at once.

Raven twisted around to peer out the window.

She hadn’t imagined it.

No, she definitely hadn’t imagined it.

Walking next to Gordon was, unmistakably, a woman—and not just any woman, but one with strikingly beautiful features. And what truly made her blood run cold was that this woman was actually holding Snow in her arms.

Wasn’t Snow supposed to be impossible to touch for strangers?

The sight of Snow nestled comfortably against Caitlin made all the color drain from Raven’s face.

Who was this woman?

Why was she allowed to hold Snow?

What kind of underhanded tricks had she used to get close to Snow?

Raven had been chasing after Gordon for years.

She knew Snow wasn’t just any cat. Even she couldn't get near him. For anyone else, even brushing Snow’s fur was out of the question!

So.

That woman had to be up to no good.

She was clearly using Snow as an excuse to steal Gordon away.

Raven’s hands gripped the leather seats so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

Why were there always so many women desperate to play the homewrecker? Absolutely shameless.

"Miss, should we keep going? There’s a backup behind us," the driver’s voice came from the front seat.

Raven snapped out of her daze, forcing herself to calm down. "Yes, keep driving."

It didn’t matter.

Gordon loved her most; he was just about to confess his feelings. No woman could take him away. Once they were officially together, she’d make sure all the hangers-on and gold-diggers around Gordon were dealt with.

Beep, beep.

A phone rang in the quiet car.

Raven picked up.

Ridiculous.

Raven’s eyes narrowed as she strode straight up to Caitlin, forcing a smile. "Miss Gonzales."

Caitlin lowered her gaze politely. "And you are?"

"I’m from the Cartwright family," Raven replied smoothly. "Are you here at Lakeside Bistro for lunch?"

"Yes, I’m meeting a friend here today."

A friend?

Raven’s eyes flashed with scorn.

How laughable.

Did Caitlin really not know that Lakeside Bistro was booked out today?

Did she overhear rumors about Gordon’s confession and delude herself into thinking it was meant for her?

So vain.

Gordon would never fall for a pretty face with nothing behind it.

He loved her—he was confessing to her. Caitlin was completely irrelevant.

With a glint of satisfaction in her eyes, Raven continued, "Miss Gonzales, the entire place has been reserved by someone who’s secretly in love with me. He’s confessing to me today. No one else is allowed in."

With that, Raven swept past Caitlin and headed confidently toward the restaurant’s doors. But as soon as she stepped inside, a staff member stopped her.

"I’m so sorry, miss," the hostess said. "Lakeside Bistro has been reserved for a private event today. We’re not open to the public."
