People kept criticizing the event organizers.
“The organizers are unbelievable. My idol graciously agreed to attend the gala—you should be grateful! Yet you couldn’t even have a doctor on standby, and now my idol had to leave halfway to go to the hospital.”
“Poor Tammie!”
“I saw the trending photos. His face was completely drained of color—he must have felt terrible.”
…
Just like that, Tammie gained tens of thousands of new followers overnight.
When Tammie returned home and saw the trending topic, a wave of relief washed over him.
Maybe, just maybe, every cloud really does have a silver lining.
Meanwhile, the gala for the arts community continued well into the night.
Caitlin had attended the banquet and accepted her award, but she hadn’t posted a single photo from the event.
It was nearly midnight by the time she made it back to Gonzales Manor.
Keira was still up, waiting in the living room.
Caitlin was surprised to see her grandmother awake at such a late hour. “Grandma, why aren’t you in bed yet?”
Keira smiled and turned to her. “When you get to my age, sleep isn’t as easy as it used to be. I can’t rest even if I lie in bed, so I thought I’d sit here, watch a little TV, and wait for you to come home.”
Caitlin’s eyes stung with emotion at her words.
Some things never change.
She remembered coming home late before—Fortune Kensington would wait up for her too, always using the excuse that older folks just don’t sleep as much.
Caitlin set down her bag and walked over to give Keira a hug. “Grandma, if I’m ever late again, you don’t have to wait up for me. Promise me you’ll go to bed early?”
What fruit bowl?
Caitlin turned and spotted the trophy she’d brought home last night. Well, it would be a shame to let it gather dust… It worked surprisingly well as a fruit bowl!
…
Thanks to the whole “stomach cramps” fiasco, Tammie was once again trending on Twitter.
But things quickly took a new turn.
Because—
For the first time in two years, Forest, the president of the arts association, logged into Twitter and posted an announcement.
Forest: “Regarding last night’s incident where Mr. Tammie and his companion left the gala early, I’d like to clarify a few things. First: Mr. Tammie and his companion did NOT leave because of some stomach cramps. He was escorted out after impersonating C’s older brother and pretending to be family. Second: That deathly pale face of his was because C exposed his lie on the spot—not because of any medical emergency. @Tammie, how about you clear things up instead of hiding in your shell?”

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
