Mrs. Prescott just couldn’t let go of her prejudice against Caitlin’s divorce.
Jimmy was such an outstanding young man. Sure, his health wasn’t the best, but that was no reason for him to marry a divorcée.
In Mrs. Prescott’s mind, divorced women should only marry divorced men.
Jimmy glanced sideways at Mrs. Prescott, his eyes calm and unreadable. “Aunt Helen, don’t worry. Freya and I aren’t even friends, and I certainly don’t have any special feelings for her.”
Love at first sight? That sort of thing was far too fanciful for Jimmy.
He was flesh and blood, not some cardboard character from a romance novel who’d throw his whole life away for a woman he’d just met.
If there was one thing Jimmy truly feared, it was loneliness. He wanted a big family one day, a house full of children and grandchildren.
Hearing his answer, Mrs. Prescott finally relaxed. “That’s good, Jimmy. I just worry about you making a foolish mistake, letting yourself get swept up by someone’s looks. Just remember, someone who’s divorced isn’t a good match for you—don’t even consider it. Everything else will fall into place.”
Looks weren’t everything, after all. A man like Jimmy deserved someone who was exceptional, inside and out.
Jimmy nodded in agreement.
Cassidy looked anxious, wanting to say something, but Mrs. Prescott’s sharp gaze stopped her cold.
In Mrs. Prescott’s view, Cassidy was just stirring up trouble. What kind of cousin tries to set up her own cousin with a divorcée?
With Mrs. Prescott’s intervention, Cassidy held her tongue.

The Gonzales family home.
Caitlin was performing acupuncture on Stuart.
Suddenly, voices drifted in from outside. Keira and Amanda were in conversation.
“Mom, I haven’t been by to see Stuart in days. How’s he doing lately? Any sign of improvement?”
Keira glanced at her daughter, recalling how Marcia had asked about Amanda a few days ago. Could Amanda really have something to do with Marcia’s disappearance, and with what happened to her brother’s family? No, surely not. Amanda and Stuart were siblings, bound by blood.
Keira desperately wanted to believe in her daughter’s innocence. But she had no way to prove it—she could only wait. Wait for her son to wake up. Wait for Marcia to be found.
For now, she had to go along with her granddaughter’s plan, keep up appearances, and not betray the slightest hint of doubt. It pained her to do this to Amanda, but until the truth came out, she had no choice.
Keira sighed and replied, “Your brother’s still the same. I really don’t know if he’ll ever wake up.”
“Hi, Aunt Amanda.” Caitlin turned when she saw Amanda enter.
Amanda put on her brightest smile. “Don’t mind me, Freya. I just came by to see how your father’s doing.”
“Thank you.” Caitlin turned back to her work.
Amanda continued, “Mom, I think Stuart’s looked much better since Freya started caring for him. You really don’t need to worry so much. The best thing you can do is eat well, sleep well, and be ready for the day our family is whole again.”
Her words brought Keira a rare sense of comfort. What mother didn’t long for her son to wake up?
Just then, Caitlin finished placing the last silver needle. She turned and said, “Aunt Amanda, I need to go back to Silverhaven tomorrow. While I’m gone, I’ll have to trouble you to look after Grandma and Dad.”
“You’re going to Silverhaven?” Amanda was a little surprised. “What for?”
“I want to visit my grandfather,” Caitlin replied.
It had been three months since Fortune Kensington had returned home. Caitlin video-called her grandfather every day, but she couldn’t shake her worry after so long apart.
“I see.” Amanda didn’t press further. “Don’t worry about things here, Freya. I’ll take care of your grandma and your dad while you’re gone.”

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
