THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 477

Jimmy had met plenty of women who tried to get close to him.

But none quite like Caitlin.

She was something else entirely.

What was this called, anyway?

Playing hard to get?

She’d clearly gone to great lengths to end up on the same flight as him, even snagging the seat right beside his. Yet, once she sat down, she made a point of saying absolutely nothing to him.

In any situation, the first to make a move always loses.

So, Caitlin probably wanted him to start the conversation.

But what Jimmy didn’t expect was for her to suddenly get up and leave.

He found himself glancing back for a long time, watching her go.

Only when someone called out did he snap out of it.

“Mr. Parsons!”

Jimmy turned, finally registering the voice. “Nash.”

Nash hurried over and took Jimmy’s briefcase from his hand. “It really is you, Mr. Parsons. I thought I was seeing things.”

Jimmy was always discreet—in his casual clothes, he looked nothing like the company president come to inspect operations.

More like a college professor.

Nash grinned and said, “Mr. Parsons, the car’s ready and waiting.”

“Alright.” Jimmy fell in step beside him.

As they walked, Jimmy glanced back one more time, but this time, he quickly looked away.

Caitlin had left.

But judging from her approach, he had a feeling that when he flew back to the capital in three days, Caitlin would be on the same flight again.

He couldn’t help but look forward to seeing what she’d do next.

Meanwhile, Caitlin had just stepped out of the VIP lounge when she spotted Hannah, Jade, and Stephanie waiting for her.

“Grandma! Aunt Jade! Aunt Stephanie!”

“Freya, my darling Freya!” Hannah rushed forward, her arms wide, sweeping her long-missed granddaughter into a tight embrace.

“I missed you so much, Grandma.” Caitlin hugged her back just as tightly.

Hannah’s eyes glistened with tears. “Oh, my sweet girl, I finally get to hold you. You know, I’ve been dreaming about you every night these past weeks.”

Honestly, ever since Caitlin had been found, everything still felt a little unreal to Hannah.

The household staff lined up on either side of the driveway and, as Caitlin stepped out of the car, greeted her with genuine warmth. “Welcome home, Miss Freya!”

Hannah had no other grandchildren. Caitlin was her only granddaughter, and so she was doted on just as much here as she was at the Gonzales house.

Not only was she the sole young miss of the Gonzales family, she was also the only granddaughter of the Richards family.

Originally, Hannah had wanted to throw a lavish welcome party in Neon Spire to officially introduce Caitlin to the family, but Caitlin thought it would be too much fuss. Plus, with the holidays approaching and Stuart’s situation still complicated, she’d asked Hannah to hold off on the party.

So instead, this time, the Richards family combined Hannah’s birthday celebration with Caitlin’s official homecoming—a double celebration.

Inside, her two aunts seemed to be competing to see who could spoil her more, ordering up all sorts of delicious treats.

And, of course, Caitlin’s favorite bubble tea.

Hannah even brought out a jewelry chest, filled with all kinds of treasures she’d collected for Caitlin over the past few weeks.

Caitlin, not to be outdone, pulled out gifts she’d prepared for Hannah and her eight uncles and aunts.

Hannah was deeply moved when she received clothes and a pair of shoes that her granddaughter had picked out herself.

For her eight aunts, Caitlin had chosen handmade silk dresses and natural pearl necklaces.

For her eight uncles, she’d selected elegant wristwatches.

Jade and Stephanie couldn’t wait to try on their new dresses and necklaces. Both still kept themselves in great shape, and Caitlin’s eye for style and precise measurements meant everything fit perfectly.

The two aunts looked years younger and more elegant in their silk dresses and pearls, a far cry from their usual style.
