THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 525

A typical epileptic seizure isn’t usually this severe.

And it almost never causes incontinence.

Actually, calling it incontinence isn’t quite right—it’s more like postpartum leakage.

It’s a well-known fact:

Mothers are extraordinary.

Giving birth is one of the riskiest things a person can do. In everyday life, most mothers seem just like anyone else, but the truth is, one out of every ten women carries a secret burden after childbirth.

Things like bladder leaks, pelvic floor dysfunction, and even uterine prolapse…

Celia already suffered from epilepsy, and her constitution was particularly fragile. After giving birth, not only did her epilepsy worsen, but she also developed serious complications.

When Caitlin spoke, Jennifer froze for a moment before nodding. “Yes, Miss Palmer gave birth to a child six months ago.”

This was a closely guarded secret among the nobility of Valerium.

Only those in the Palmer family knew.

Not a word of it had leaked outside.

And, in fact, the Palmer family had already taken care of the child’s father in secret.

Aside from Celia and her brother, no one knew who the biological father was.

Until now, Jennifer had harbored doubts about Caitlin’s medical skills.

But now?

All her skepticism vanished.

If Caitlin wasn’t truly skilled, how could she have known Celia had given birth?

With that realization, Jennifer immediately knelt before Caitlin, eyes red with emotion. “Miss Gonzales, please, I’m begging you—please save our Miss Palmer!”

“I’ll do everything I can.” Caitlin replied gently. “And there’s one more thing: Based on my diagnosis, Celia’s seizures used to occur about every three months. But in the six months since she gave birth, they’ve become more and more frequent—about once a month now. The last one must have happened around two weeks ago.”

Jennifer nodded vigorously. “Yes, exactly! It was two weeks ago!”

That recent episode was why Celia even dared attend the party tonight.

Who could have guessed another seizure would strike so soon?

It was uncanny.

Caitlin was nothing short of miraculous.

She’d only checked Celia’s pulse, yet she seemed to understand her condition inside and out.

But not Caitlin.

Not only was there no hint of revulsion—she was utterly focused, her expression nothing but calm determination.

Maybe… maybe they’d all been wrong about her from the start.

Maybe Caitlin wasn’t the kind of person people whispered about at all.

Soon, Celia’s eyelids fluttered, and she slowly came to.

Jennifer, barely holding back tears, exclaimed, “Miss Palmer! You’re awake! How are you feeling? You scared me half to death just now!”

Before, Jennifer’s eyes had only been red—she hadn’t dared to cry. Now, seeing Celia awake, she couldn’t hold back any longer. She hugged her tight, sobbing quietly.

“I’m fine, really. I’m okay.” Celia hugged her back, patting her gently, her voice soft and soothing.

Then she looked over at Caitlin.

There was a depth in her eyes, a flood of unspoken words that condensed into a single sentence: “Thank you.”

“Just doing my job,” Caitlin replied, her tone even. She handed Celia some clothes, brought in by a servant. “You should be feeling better now. Go to the restroom and freshen up. Head out this way—no one in the ballroom will see you.”

Celia took the clothes, eyes lowered, her emotions complicated.

Caitlin added, “And don’t worry—everyone here tonight, staff and members of the Richards family alike, have signed confidentiality agreements. What happened here won’t leave this room.”
