THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 550

Jennifer followed them inside.

All three stepped into the house together.

Mrs. Lewis took Celia’s hand and settled with her on the couch. “Celia, I heard from Jennifer that you were duped by some quack in Eldermere, and now you’re taking herbal remedies every day?”

Celia shot Jennifer a sharp look. “Why did you have to gossip about me to my aunt?”

Jennifer lowered her head, her expression tangled with guilt and confusion.

She had been certain something terrible had happened to Celia today.

But to her surprise…

Celia was just fine.

Mrs. Lewis patted Celia’s hand reassuringly. “Jennifer was only worried about you, dear. Don’t be upset with her.”

In Mrs. Lewis’s eyes, whatever Jennifer did, it was always out of concern for Celia. She truly believed Jennifer’s intentions were good.

To be honest, Mrs. Lewis herself didn’t trust alternative medicine either.

Celia glanced sideways at her aunt. “Auntie, Miss Gonzales is not a fraud. Don’t believe Jennifer’s wild stories.”

“If she’s not a fraud, then why have you only gotten worse since she started treating you?” Mrs. Lewis frowned deeply, gripping Celia’s hand. “I’m telling you, Celia, no one in Eldermere can be trusted.”

Jennifer quickly waved her hands, flustered. “No, that’s not it at all! Miss Palmer, I want you to get better more than anyone! I’m just being honest about what I’ve seen.”

Celia turned back to Mrs. Lewis. “Auntie, I really am fine now. It’s true I haven’t been at my best these past few days, but when I woke up just now, I felt completely recharged. And the most important thing? I checked, and my adult diaper was completely dry.”

A dry diaper meant she hadn’t had an accident in her sleep.

She went on, “Do you know how long I napped this afternoon? Six hours!”

Six hours of sleep, and she’d stayed completely dry—that was nothing short of a miracle for Celia.

Usually, even a short afternoon nap meant an accident was inevitable.
