THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 609

Captain Quinn was stunned, Officer Garfield's words echoing in her mind.

The forensics lab had just sent back their preliminary findings.

The body in the wall was not Marcia, who had been missing for years.

It was Karla. The living, breathing Karla.

That meant…

Caitlin's entire theory was correct.

Marcia was still alive, living under her sister's name. The real Karla had been murdered by her own sister long ago.

Captain Quinn immediately turned to the officer beside her. "Devon, get a location on Karla right now!"

Then, to another, "Call a team meeting, immediately."

"Yes, Captain."

After giving her orders, she faced Caitlin again. "Miss Kensington, you were right. The real Marcia is still alive. The body in the wall is indeed Karla."

"We are reopening the investigation into the car accident from twenty years ago. We will bring the perpetrators to justice, and we'll keep you and your family informed of any developments."

Hearing this, the other officers in the room were speechless. Especially Officer Farrar, the one who had just dismissed Caitlin's theory. None of them could believe that a young woman had pieced together the entire twisted truth from a few simple clues.

"Thank you," Caitlin said, her expression unchanged. There was no hint of pride or excitement in her success, just the same calm composure she'd maintained all along.

She could only watch her own son from a distance, unable to claim him.

Marcia blinked back her tears and pushed her luggage cart forward, forcing a cheerful smile. "Baber, are you here by yourself? Where are Lillian and the kids?"

Lillian Bloom was Baber's wife.

"Bill and Nancy are at school today. Lillian went to the restroom; she'll be right back," he replied.

Marcia nodded, her heart aching as she noticed the new gray hairs on his head. "Baber, have you been under a lot of stress lately?"

He sighed. "The economy's been rough this year. Lillian's company is already starting layoffs. But thank goodness we have you, Auntie. Without your help all these years, our family wouldn't be living so comfortably."
