With Stuart unconscious and Keira collapsing in grief, Amanda was secretly ecstatic. She suppressed her joy and turned on Caitlin, her voice sharp with accusation. "Freya Gonzales! You've been solely responsible for your father's care all this time. How could he have been poisoned? I think you owe us an explanation!"
Her use of Caitlin's full name was a deliberate shift, the implication clear: Caitlin was to blame.
Ann immediately picked up on her mother's cue. "Caitlin, I bet you're the one who poisoned him! With Uncle Stuart dead, you can take over Gonzales Holdings without any obstacles!"
"I've only been home for six months, but my father has been poisoned for twenty years," Caitlin shot back, her gaze shifting to Amanda and Ann. "Aunt Amanda, if I remember correctly, for the past nineteen years, you and Grandma were the ones taking care of him."
"Grandma wanted him to wake up more than anyone. She would never harm him. So, who does that leave as the poisoner, besides you?"
Her final words were cold and heavy, carrying a weight that made even Amanda flinch and look away.
But Amanda recovered quickly. "You're the one who killed my brother! You ungrateful child! If you hadn't stopped all his medication and treatment, he would have woken up long ago!"
"Ann is right! You did all this so you could inherit the Gonzales family fortune!" Amanda's voice rose. "Caitlin, how could you be so cruel? Even if you weren't raised by us, you are Stuart and Carey's daughter! That's your father! Your own father! How could you do this to him?"
Faced with the accusation, Caitlin seemed to panic. She rushed to Keira's side. "Grandma, I didn't! I never poisoned Dad. You can vouch for me."
Keira struggled to her feet, then her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed.
"Grandma!" Caitlin cried, catching her. "Grandma, what's wrong? Wake up!"
Ann rushed over, feigning concern. "Grandma! Grandma, are you alright?"
But no matter how much she shook her, Keira remained unresponsive.
Ann's heart leaped with joy. *Could the old hag be dead?*
She reached out and carefully checked for a breath.
Her eyes widened. She wanted to laugh out loud.
*Yes! It's true! The old woman isn't breathing.*
"Grandma, don't worry, I'll save you! You won't die. You definitely won't die!"
Caitlin fumbled for her acupuncture needles, her hands shaking so violently she couldn't aim at Keira's pressure points.
She then pulled out her phone, sobbing. "Grandma, hold on, I'm calling 911. They'll be here soon."
Seeing Caitlin try to call for help, Amanda snatched the phone and threw it against the wall.
*Smash!*
The phone shattered.
She then gave Ann a sharp look.
Ann understood immediately. She cut the power to the room and stood guard at the door, ensuring no one could get in.

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
