THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 698

Secretary Lowell decided to venture one last comment. "Actually, Miss Gonzales is incredibly capable. Perhaps, this time, you're the one who has misjudged the situation, Mr. Blake. I believe she can create a miracle."

At this, Clark threw his head back and laughed, a loud, booming sound that filled the office. The other departing shareholders joined in.

"Capable?" he wheezed. "Freya? Aaron, you're so young, you haven't seen what real capability looks like. That girl wouldn't even qualify to be my assistant, and you expect her to perform miracles? That's the funniest thing I've heard all year."

Secretary Lowell said nothing more, simply returning to her work, her head bowed as she continued to stamp the papers.

The news of the mass shareholder exodus from Gonzales Holdings quickly went viral.

[The rats are fleeing the sinking ship! It looks like this is really the end for Gonzales Holdings.]

[One day down, four to go. Let's see if they can survive.]

[I never thought Gonzales Holdings would be brought down by their own heiress.]

[I bet Miss Gonzales isn't having a very good time right now.]

"Head-to-head?" Suzanne asked. "What did she say?"

Justus pulled up Stuart and Caitlin's posts and showed them to her. Suzanne read them, her expression turning to one of sheer exasperation.

"Freya is young and reckless, fine. But how could Stuart go along with her nonsense?" she lamented, sighing. If they had simply stayed silent, the storm might have passed.

"I blame Keira, not the Gonzales patriarch," Justus declared. "He's a victim in this too. Those two women are nothing but trouble." He paused, catching himself. He was a traditionalist who fundamentally believed women were inferior to men, but he quickly changed the subject. "Grandma, I'll say it again: you cannot help Keira out of some misguided sense of loyalty. Right now, anyone associated with the Gonzales family is toxic."
