THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 707

"Hoffman, you're saved! You're saved! This is the antidote. You'll be fine once you take this!"

But Hoffman was no longer capable of swallowing on his own. No matter how she tried to give him the medicine, he couldn't get it down. The water she fed him just trickled out from the corners of his mouth.

Old Mrs. Sterling's voice trembled. "Hoffman, please, be a good boy and take the medicine! You'll be alright after you take it."

*Wee-woo, wee-woo—*

Just then, the piercing wail of an ambulance siren sounded from outside the Sterling family gate.

Jasmine felt a surge of hope. "The ambulance is here! The ambulance is here!"

The sound brought a sliver of relief to Old Mrs. Sterling as well.

Soon, doctors and nurses rushed into the back garden. After administering emergency measures, they lifted Hoffman onto a stretcher. Old Mrs. Sterling and Jasmine followed them into the ambulance.

Seeing her son's lifeless face, Old Mrs. Sterling grabbed a doctor's sleeve, her voice choked with tears. "Doctor, I'm begging you! Please, you have to save my son! He's still young, not even fifty yet!"

The doctor, while treating Hoffman, glanced at her. "Ma'am, rest assured, we will do everything we can! Please let go of me! Don't hinder the rescue!"

Startled, Old Mrs. Sterling immediately released his sleeve.

About half an hour later, they arrived at the hospital. Hoffman was rushed into the emergency room. Due to the severity of his condition, the hospital mobilized nearly all of its senior physicians.

Justus was in a meeting. The moment he stepped out, his secretary hurried over. "Young Master Sterling, something has happened."

Seeing her son, the tears Jasmine had managed to hold back began to flow again. Sobbing, she recounted the entire ordeal.

"If I had known this would happen, we should have listened to Miss Gonzales! If we had, none of this would have happened!"

No one knew the depth of Jasmine's regret. Old Mrs. Sterling was also consumed by it.

Justus narrowed his eyes. "Grandma, Mom, don't jump to the worst conclusion yet. I don't think Dad's condition has anything to do with Smith's pills! His health was already poor; it could be other complications."

"I have a feeling he's going to be fine."

What was Caitlin, anyway? How could her words possibly come true? Justus refused to believe that some young upstart could possess such abilities.
