Caitlin was the only person Celia could think of. After all, it was Caitlin who had cured her of her debilitating condition. Without her, Celia would still be suffering from constant seizures.
*Freya?* The name cut through Mrs. Palmer's grief. She looked at Celia. "Freya? You mean Miss Freya Gonzales from Eldermere?" She remembered the brilliant young doctor who had saved her daughter. In gratitude, Mrs. Palmer had sent Caitlin a priceless sapphire. And with the recent Smith scandal, even ordinary citizens of Valerium had heard of the mysterious Miss Gonzales.
"Yes, that's her," Celia confirmed.
Mrs. Palmer wiped her tears. "But… Miss Gonzales isn't Dr. Oracle. What if… what if she can't cure Brock either?" Brock's affliction wasn't an ordinary illness; it was an ancient family curse. The Palmers were searching for Dr. Oracle because he had once successfully lifted a curse for a remote tribe. No one else could help them.
Celia's expression was resolute. "Mother, Dr. Oracle is a phantom. We've wasted too much time chasing him. If you truly want to save Brock, we have to try every possible option. We can't just sit here and wait for him to die." She took her mother's hands. "Brock doesn't have much time left. Please, let me ask Freya to come. What if she's the one who can save him?" Bringing Caitlin here would, at the very least, offer them a sliver of hope.
Mrs. Palmer closed her eyes, weighing her daughter's words. The doctors of Valerium were useless. If they didn't try something different, Brock would die, just like his brothers. She was a mother. She couldn't bear to watch all three of her sons be taken from her.
After a long moment, she opened her eyes. "Alright. Go to Eldermere. Bring Miss Gonzales back."
Hearing this, the doctors in the room began to mutter amongst themselves.
One of the doctors, Francis, chose his words carefully. "Miss Palmer, are you suggesting that all of us here are inferior to a practitioner of traditional Eldermere medicine?"
Celia's reply was scathing. "If you useless fools were half as good as Freya, the Smith incident would have never happened."
The room fell silent. The Smith incident was a stain on Valerium's medical community, a national disgrace.
Francis's eyes narrowed. "Miss Palmer, you can't equate the two. Smith was Smith, and we are us. Just because Smith was no match for Miss Gonzales does not mean that we aren't."

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
