Carey's face was pale, and even her lips were colorless. She spoke in a weak tone, "Rosemary, I'm very tired today."
Carey felt as if her condition had reverted to ten years ago, when she spent every day in a daze.
"Tired?" Rosemary sneered. "Flavia Cartwright, stop putting on an act! You're living as the young mistress in our Vance family, eating the best food and living a life of luxury. What right do you have to say you're tired?"
"Tell me! You're doing this on purpose, aren't you? Are you trying to anger my mother to death? So you can stir up trouble in this house?"
For all these years, the Vance family had given Carey the best life. She was dressed in the finest silks and served the most exquisite foods.
But what about Carey?
Not only was she ungrateful, but she also acted as if they had wronged her!
It was disgusting.
The more Rosemary looked at Carey, the more disgusted she felt, wishing she could just kill her on the spot.
But obviously, killing Carey directly would be letting her off too easily.
Carey no longer had the strength to speak.
Her head felt dizzy and heavy. She tried hard to pull herself together and looked at Rosemary. "Rosemary, you got me wrong. I never thought that way. I'm just really a bit tired..."
"Bitch! You're just a bitch! You have the right to be tired? Do you know my brother died because of you? If it weren't for you, our family would be so happy right now!"
"Flavia Cartwright! The one who should be dead is you!"
"You!"
Tina had just reached the top of the stairs and, before even entering the room, she heard Rosemary's shrieks.
Peeking through the ajar door, Tina saw Rosemary yanking Carey's hair, her vicious words like sharp knives, making one unsteady on their feet.
Not only that.
Shirley shook her head at her, one hand on her shoulder, while the other raised an index finger to her lips in a shushing motion.
Seeing Shirley, Tina was taken aback.
Shirley had come to deliver Carey's medicine and had accidentally witnessed the scene. She immediately pulled Tina into a nearby empty room.
"Shirley!" As soon as they were in the empty room, Tina yanked her hand away from Shirley's grasp and said angrily, "Did you see what they did to Madam? Valerium is a country of freedom and equality!"
Yet, in such a country, such dark things were happening.
Shirley just looked at Tina. "Tina, calm down. We're adults, and adults have to be responsible for their words and actions. Are you sure you can help Madam escape her current predicament?"
"Don't forget the agreement you signed with the Vance family when you started working here."
Hearing that, Tina's fiery anger instantly dissipated.
Shirley continued, "Tina! Please remember your place. You're just an ordinary person. Do you know what consequences your reckless actions could have? Do you think you can save Madam with your strength alone? I'm telling you, it's absolutely impossible!"

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
