THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 827

As she saw the gift, the smile on Rosemary's face froze, replaced by a look of sheer disappointment.

How… how could this be? Why would Will give her something like this?

Nestled inside the box was an ordinary vase.

It was a standard, unremarkable design, nothing special about it at all. In fact, it was probably less valuable than the luminous pearl Greer had given her.

This was not what Rosemary had imagined. Will adored her. He had come to her party personally. How could he give her such an ordinary birthday present?

Even if he didn't give her a priceless treasure, he should have at least written a love letter.

Yes. The love letter!

Rosemary's eyes lit up at the thought. Perhaps it was hidden inside the vase.

She quickly lifted the vase from the box and reached inside, but her hopes were dashed once again.

Nothing. There was absolutely nothing inside. The vase was empty.

Rosemary's face fell, her eyes turning red. She couldn't accept this. She was the one Will loved most. How could he have not prepared anything for her?

Seeing the empty vase and Rosemary's crestfallen expression, the crowd's mockery grew louder.

"I thought Lord Will would have prepared some extravagant gift for Miss Vance! Turns out it's just a vase!"

"Rosemary," Greer said, stepping forward to support her. "Are you alright?"

Rosemary struggled to compose herself. "I'm fine."

She was Will's moon and stars. He wouldn't be so careless with her birthday gift. There had to be a reason he chose this. Perhaps he was trying to protect her! Yes, that was it. If he had given her something expensive in front of everyone, she would have become a target for jealousy. He was protecting her!

With that thought, Rosemary felt a little better. Just wait. The gift may have been simple, but he would surely ask her for the opening dance. Then, she would make every single one of them regret their words.

Will had followed Caitlin out of the ballroom, but after just a few steps, he lost her.

He stared at the empty path ahead, scratching his head in confusion. "That's strange. Where did she go?"
