THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 835

How dare the Vance family!

Neither the Gonzales family nor the Richards family had any feud with the Vances. They had barely even crossed paths. Why would they do something so cruel to Carey?

"Mom," Caitlin said, her grip on Carey's hand tightening, "give me some time. I will get to the bottom of all this, and I will make the Vance family pay for what they've done."

Celia chimed in, "Freya, since the Vances are based here in Valerium, let me handle the investigation."

She had been wanting to do something to help Caitlin for a long time.

"Alright. Thank you, Celia. I appreciate it."

Right now, her priority was helping Carey recover her memories. She truly didn't have the time to investigate the Vances herself.

Just then, a thought occurred to Caitlin. She picked up her phone. "I have to share this good news with Grandma and everyone right away."

She called Hannah first.

There was a significant time difference between Valerium and her home country. It was daytime where they were, but back home, it was just after two in the morning.

Hannah was fast asleep. Normally, an elderly woman like her would have her phone on silent at night. But not Hannah. Her phone was always on, the ringer at full volume. She had never changed her private number.

The sudden sound of a video call startled her awake.

Who could be calling at this hour?

A small night light cast a dim glow in the room. Hannah fumbled for her phone under her pillow and put on the glasses from her nightstand.

When she saw who was calling, her heart skipped a beat.

It was Caitlin.

A call from her so late at night... had something happened?

The moment Hannah saw her daughter's face, she broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. "Carey! My child! Is it really you? Are you really back?"

Carey looked at the woman on the screen. Even though she couldn't remember anything, the raw emotion was infectious. The tears she had just managed to stop began to fall again. Instinctively, she whispered, "Mom."

That one word was all the confirmation Hannah needed. It was real. "Carey," she cried, "I've waited for this day for over twenty years! I finally lived to see this day! Now, your father can finally rest in peace!"

Old Mr. Richards had passed away the year after Carey's accident, never getting to see his daughter or granddaughter again. Now, by the grace of God, her daughter had been found.

No one could comprehend the depth of Hannah's joy.

After hanging up, she immediately began calling her sons and daughters-in-law to share the incredible news.

Next, Caitlin called Stuart.

He was still awake. For some reason, he had been dreaming of Carey constantly these past few days. At first, a single sleeping pill had been enough to help him rest. Now, not even ten could do the trick.
