THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 845

Audley was a mountain of a man, standing at least six-foot-nine with a thick, bushy beard. He had a face that could intimidate hardened criminals, let alone an ordinary person.

But Caitlin merely met his gaze, her voice calm. "That's right. I'm Freya Gonzales."

Audley nodded. "You are a person of interest in a home invasion, robbery, and kidnapping case. You need to come with us immediately."

Before she could respond, a pair of cold handcuffs snapped around her wrists.

"The Vance family sent you, didn't they?" Caitlin glanced down at the restraints. "Arresting people in broad daylight without a shred of evidence. The Royal Police are truly something else. A word of advice: I am on my way to Witting Castle to treat Prince Hollis. If his condition worsens because of this delay, can you bear the consequences?"

Witting Castle? Prince Hollis?

Audley let out a laugh, his eyes filled with scorn.

"You? Some girl from Eldermere, treating Prince Hollis? In your dreams!"

Prince Hollis was the heir to the throne of Valerium. Even a noble family like the Windsors was nothing compared to the House of Witting.

Who did this girl think she was? Did she really believe her half-baked medical skills could get her through the gates of Witting Castle? It was laughable.

More importantly, Prince Hollis was known to be in perfect health; he had just given an interview a few days ago. If she was going to lie, she could have at least come up with something more believable.

Did she think that being close to the Palmer family gave her the right to do whatever she wanted?

Audley's expression hardened. He gave Caitlin a rough shove. "Cut the act! Don't try to pull any tricks on me!"

With that, Caitlin was forced into an official vehicle. The sound of the siren faded into the distance as the car disappeared from sight.

At the station, Audley tossed a document onto the table in front of her.

"Sign the confession."

"I'm not guilty. Why would I confess?" Caitlin sat in the interrogation chair, her delicate features unreadable. She was the one being interrogated, yet she exuded an aura that made Audley feel like the criminal.

Valerium's solitary confinement was not an ordinary cell. It was a place of nightmares, filled with all sorts of horrors, including ravenous rats. Caitlin was in for a world of pain.

"Of course it's true," Rosemary said with a grin. "Audley called me himself. Oh, and you'll never guess what that little brat said when they arrested her."

"What did she say?" Dowager Vance asked.

"She had the nerve to threaten Audley, saying she was going to treat Prince Hollis! Can you believe how insane she is?"

Dowager Vance burst out laughing, then turned to a servant. "Prepare the car. I'm going to pay our little guest a visit myself."

"Right away, Dowager."

The servant bowed and hurried off to arrange for the vehicle.

Meanwhile, at Witting Castle, Queen Sally sat by Hollis's bedside, her expression fraught with anxiety. She turned to the white-haired old man beside her. "Mr. Zach, where is Dr. Oracle? You said she was on her way. It's been half an hour. Why isn't she here yet?"
