THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 862

"Hollis! You're really awake!" Sally exclaimed in disbelief.

This time, there was a clear light in his eyes. He slowly turned his head to look at Sally. "Mom."

His voice was hoarse from days of disuse.

"Hollis!" Sally threw her arms around her son, tears of joy streaming down her face.

No one could comprehend the depth of her relief. After a long moment, she gently released him.

"I'm thirsty," Hollis rasped.

Sally immediately turned to a nearby servant. "Quickly, bring some water!"

Zach stepped forward with a glass. "This is a specially prepared restorative water my master made. It will aid in the prince's recovery."

Sally took the glass from Zach herself and helped Hollis drink.

Hollis had been on an IV for so long, he hadn't tasted water in what felt like an eternity. He drank the entire glass in one go.

Sally gently patted his back to keep him from choking. "Are you still thirsty?"

Hollis shook his head. "No, but I'm a little hungry now."

Caitlin spoke up from the side. "Hollis has just woken up. He needs to wait three hours before having any light food."

Hollis hadn't noticed Caitlin standing there. At the sound of her voice, he turned, his eyes filled with confusion.

"Please wait, Miss Gonzales," Sally said, looking at her earnestly. "Thank you for saving Hollis. You are a benefactor to our royal family, and I must honor my promise. I wish to bestow upon you a royal title! From now on, your husband, your children, and all your descendants will carry this honor, forever part of the Valerium peerage."

Valerium had only one family name associated with its highest peerage: Windsor.

Normally, only collateral branches of the royal family could bear that name; commoners were never granted such an honor. But Caitlin was different. She was Hollis's savior.

If Caitlin agreed, Sally could arrange for her surname to be changed to Windsor, making her a noble of the highest rank.

"The title isn't necessary," Caitlin said, her tone calm and even. "I only want justice for my mother."

Sally first nodded, then looked up at Caitlin, her expression one of utter disbelief. "You... you don't want the title?"
