"Alright then." Caitlin nodded. "I'm going to take Monday for a run now."
"Okay!"
"Monday, let's go." Caitlin clipped the leash onto Monday's collar.
As she reached the door, Caitlin seemed to remember something and glanced back at Celeste. The girl who usually slept until eleven... why was she up so early today? It was only seven-thirty! How strange. But Caitlin didn't dwell on it and continued on her run with Monday.
Just as she reached the park entrance, she saw Gordon standing there, waving at her. "Catie."
Whenever Caitlin was home, she would take Monday for a run in the park every morning. Even if it was raining, she would put a little raincoat on Monday and take him out. Gordon, too, was there without fail, rain or shine.
Seeing Gordon, Monday got extremely excited. If it weren't for Caitlin's firm grip, he would have lunged forward.
"Have you been waiting long?" Caitlin asked, jogging over with Monday.
"Just got here." Gordon naturally took the leash from her hand, his voice low. "A new restaurant just opened over there. I heard it's pretty good. Want to go check it out after our run?"
"Sounds good." Caitlin nodded.
During her time dating Gordon, Caitlin had noticeably gained some weight. Not only did he frequently take her to try new places, but he was also an excellent cook, making food that was simply irresistible.
---
After their run and breakfast, Caitlin and Gordon returned home, just in time to see Old Mrs. Somerset arriving for a visit.
Keira beckoned Caitlin over. "Freya, come here. This is Mrs. Somerset. You two should have met at the banquet last night."
"Hello, Grandma Somerset," Caitlin said politely.
Old Mrs. Somerset squinted, a smile on her face. "Hello, hello. Freya is such a beautiful child! The more I look at her, the more I like her."
What a pity, she thought. She was divorced! If Caitlin hadn't been married before, she would have been a perfect match for her son. But it didn't matter. Old Mrs. Somerset had already asked Jeremiah last night, and he had said he was willing to make a small sacrifice. After all, Caitlin's family background was undeniable. Otherwise, Old Mrs. Somerset wouldn't have made this trip today.
Hearing her precious granddaughter being praised, Keira was also very pleased.
After a moment, Old Mrs. Somerset's gaze fell on Monday. "Freya, is this your dog?"
Keira nodded. After some small talk, Old Mrs. Somerset suddenly changed the subject. "Keira, is your Freya seeing anyone?"
Keira smiled. "She's still young. There's no rush."
Still young? Old Mrs. Somerset glanced at Keira. Caitlin was a divorced woman; what was so young about her? It probably wasn't that Keira wasn't in a rush, but rather that no one wanted Caitlin. A divorced woman trying to find a boyfriend in the elite circles of The Capital? Impossible! Only their Somerset family was willing to take her in.
Old Mrs. Somerset composed her expression. "I heard Freya is already twenty. Really, it's a good time for her to start dating! Keira, we're practically family, so I'll be blunt. I have a suitable candidate in mind. I could play matchmaker for your Freya."
"Who is it?" Keira asked curiously.
Old Mrs. Somerset smiled. "It's someone you know."
"Someone I know?" Keira pressed. "Maura, don't keep me in suspense. Just tell me!"
"Alright," Old Mrs. Somerset nodded. "Well, I took a video at the banquet last night, and my Jeremiah happened to see it. He fell for Freya at first sight. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been so bold as to come here today."
"Even though Freya has been married once, and is technically a generation younger than our Jeremiah, he says he doesn't mind, as long as Freya settles down with him and lives a good life."

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
