THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 893

Fitch was stunned. He couldn't fathom where Jeremiah was getting this confidence, demanding that Stuart himself apologize to Old Mrs. Somerset.

It seemed Jeremiah still didn't grasp the severity of the situation.

Fitch looked at him and said, "Mr. Somerset, I will convey your words to Mr. Gonzales exactly as you said them. However, I think you might be indulging in a bit of fantasy. I can't guarantee whether Mr. Gonzales will respond."

Fantasy?

Jeremiah caught the derision in Fitch's tone. How could Stuart possibly not respond to him? It was impossible!

Old Mr. Somerset had saved Old Mr. Gonzales. Stuart couldn't just ignore the bond between the two old men. Moreover, Stuart admired him so much.

Just wait. Stuart would be here soon enough to apologize to his mother. He wouldn't even need three days. In Jeremiah's opinion, Stuart would contact him within thirty minutes.

At that thought, a small smile played on Jeremiah's lips as he looked at Fitch. "Believe it or not, within thirty minutes of you returning, he will contact me personally."

Fitch's brow furrowed. He had suspected Jeremiah had a few screws loose, but now he was certain of it.

"Mr. Somerset," Fitch couldn't help but say, "I have a small, unsolicited suggestion, if I may."

"Go on."

"I suggest you go to the hospital and see a neurologist."

A neurologist?

Jeremiah's face changed instantly. "Fitch! What do you mean by that? Are you insulting me?"

"No, no," Fitch waved his hand dismissively, his words carrying a double meaning. "You're doing a fine job of insulting yourself."

He added, "Mr. Somerset, I've completed the task Mr. Gonzales assigned me. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving."

With that, Fitch turned to leave.

"FITCH! You stop right there!" Jeremiah roared.

Fitch acted as if he hadn't heard a thing.

Jeremiah's eyes narrowed. "What a nerve, that Fitch. Looking down on me! He'll regret this." When Stuart personally came to apologize to Old Mrs. Somerset, Fitch would realize just how wrong he had been.

After Fitch returned to Gonzales Holdings, he relayed Jeremiah's message to Stuart.

Upon hearing it, Stuart's eyes narrowed, a cold glint flashing within them. "This Jeremiah thinks far too highly of himself. Secretary Fitch, arrange to have a statement released immediately, announcing the termination of our partnership with Somerset Group."

The Somersets were utterly shameless. With people this insufferable, there was no need to show any mercy.

Fitch nodded. "Yes, Mr. Gonzales. I know what to do."

It looked like Somerset Group was truly finished this time. Initially, they only had to deal with the contract termination from Gonzales Holdings. Now, with a public statement, Gonzales Holdings was officially severing all ties. The other companies that had partnered with Somerset Group only out of respect for Gonzales Holdings would undoubtedly follow suit and terminate their contracts as well.

This was going to be more than Jeremiah could handle.

Will walked over and gave Gordon a hug, clapping him firmly on the back. It was a solid hit, one that an ordinary person might not have withstood. But the man in front of him was Gordon, who didn't even flinch or cough.

Will finally let go, giving him a thumbs-up. "Master Ninth, you're built like a rock!"

He'd assumed that after so many years out of the service, Gordon's skills would have faded somewhat, but he was still as formidable as ever.

Gordon glanced at Will. "This way."

Will followed him to a small tea room off to the side. "Have a seat."

Will sat down across from him.

"Black tea or green tea?" Gordon asked.

Black tea or green tea? Will was momentarily confused. "Master Ninth, is that right? I thought you were a coffee guy." Specifically, Americanos.

"My girlfriend likes tea," Gordon said nonchalantly.

Will paused. "So, because your girlfriend likes tea, you like tea?"

"Mmm," Gordon hummed in affirmation.

Will's eyes narrowed. "Master Ninth, it sounds like you might be whipped! Does she tell you to go north, and you daren't go south? She points west, and you daren't go east? Are you afraid of her?"

Gordon chuckled. "I'm a grown man. Why would I be afraid of a young woman? And whipped? That's impossible. Don't say such ridiculous things."
