THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 906

Ike nodded. "Fine, call him now!"

He couldn't wait to hear the answer.

Skyler took out his phone and dialed Gordon's number.

The call connected almost immediately.

"Hello." Gordon's deep, magnetic voice came through the line.

"Uncle, it's me," Skyler said.

"Go on," Gordon replied, his tone clipped.

Skyler chose his words carefully. "Uncle, have you seen Twitter? The media will say anything for clicks these days! They're actually claiming you and Boss Caitlin are together! They even posted pictures of you two having a meal."

He paused, then added with a chuckle:

"You and Boss Caitlin are from completely different worlds. You're like oil and water. There's no way you could be together, right? You two are just... not a match. I'm right, aren't I?"

After asking the question, Skyler deliberately switched to speakerphone and gave Ike a smug look.

It was at that moment.

Gordon's voice came through the speaker, low and cold.

"Who told you Caitlin and I are from different worlds? Who said we have nothing in common?"

The smile on Skyler's face froze.

So? Gordon really was with Caitlin!

Holy crap!

Ike looked at Skyler, arms crossed, a triumphant grin spreading across his face. "Well, Skyler? What's the matter? Cat got your tongue? Or are you just not a fan of smiling?"

Skyler: "..."

Ike continued, "And don't forget our little bet."

"What bet?" Skyler asked.

Ike pulled out his phone and played a recording. Skyler's own voice filled the room.

"If my uncle ever actually gets married, I'll wear a pink dress and a wig to the wedding!"

Hearing the recording, Skyler's eyes widened in horror. "Ike, you bastard! That was ages ago! You actually recorded it?"

Ike wasn't about to let Skyler grab his phone. "You're the bastard! It's your own fault for not believing me. Besides, you said it yourself. I didn't force you."
