THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 919

Hearing her name, Keira glanced up. The sight of Old Mrs. Somerset's face sent a wave of nausea through her. What was she doing here?

"Don't call me that! Maura, I made it perfectly clear last time. The ties between our families have been severed!"

Severed?

Old Mrs. Somerset was shocked by Keira's reaction. She had come all this way to offer an olive branch, to give Keira a way out. What more did this old witch want? Did she expect her to get on her knees? Impossible! Utterly impossible! The fact that she had come at all was more than enough of a concession.

"Keira Fairchild Gonzales, what is the meaning of this? Are you just going to be ungrateful?" The more Old Mrs. Somerset thought about it, the angrier she got. She dropped the pretense. "Don't you forget! My husband, Edward Somerset, saved Kirk Gonzales's life! Now that our family is in trouble, you Gonzaleses can't just stand by and watch!"

The Gonzales family had to save Jeremiah! They owed it to the Somersets. Not only did she want them to get Jeremiah out, but she also wanted them to have Caitlin marry him as repayment! Since things had already gotten this ugly, Old Mrs. Somerset didn't mind making them uglier.

That little bitch Caitlin wanted to marry into the Sylvester family? Not a chance! She wasn't worthy!

"Whatever debt we had to your family has long been repaid. Don't you dare try to hold that old favor over my head!" Keira was not one to be pushed around. She turned to her bodyguard. "Get her out of here. And make sure she never comes near this property again!"

Keira couldn't believe the sheer shamelessness of some people. Yes, Old Mr. Somerset had saved Old Mr. Gonzales once. And because of that, the Gonzales family had looked after the Somersets for years. If the Somersets hadn't become so problematic, that support would have continued. But now, the Somerset family was like a leech, and Keira would not allow them to drain the life from her descendants.

"Yes, ma'am."

Before Old Mrs. Somerset could even react, she was seized by two of Keira's bodyguards.

"Let go of me! Let me go! Keira Fairchild Gonzales, you old harpy! You ungrateful old bitch! How dare you do this to me! You just wait! You'll get what's coming to you!"

"Every single one of you Gonzaleses will go to hell!"

Old Mrs. Somerset was unceremoniously dumped on the side of the road, a dirty rag shoved into her mouth by one of the bodyguards. She pulled the rag out and scrambled to her feet, ready to unleash another tirade, but when she looked up, she saw the two bodyguards were still there, watching her from across the street. A shiver of fear ran down her spine, and she swallowed her curses, turning back towards her car.

Just you wait, she thought. Once I figure out a way to deal with you Gonzaleses, I won't let this go.

With that, Old Mrs. Somerset got into her car. Half an hour later, she arrived back at Somerset Manor. But to her utter shock, the gates of the estate were sealed shut. Her grandson, Dragon, was standing by the entrance, crying.

Seeing this, alarm bells screamed in Old Mrs. Somerset's mind, and her face went deathly pale. She had only been gone for a little while. Why had the court come to seal the property?

Meanwhile, at the Sylvester Group.

Will was sitting across from Gordon's desk.

"Mr. Sylvester, I'm planning to confess my feelings again tomorrow. Do you think I'll succeed?"

Gordon glanced at him, his sharp eyes narrowing slightly. "It's hard to say."

Will scratched his head. "No matter what, I have to succeed tomorrow. The book you gave me said that sincerity is the most important part of a confession, right? I just finished setting up the location. Would you mind coming to take a look? You could give me some pointers. Since you have a successful confession under your belt, your guidance would give me some confidence!"

"Fine."

Caitlin had gone hiking with Stuart Gonzales and Carey, and Gordon happened to be free, so he agreed to go with Will to check out the confession spot. The location was a large, open meadow.

"Outdoors?" Gordon frowned slightly. "Have you considered that it might rain tomorrow? And another thing—"
