Kaia couldn't accept it and rushed out after Hailey.
Hailey was walking through the corridor when she heard footsteps quickly closing in behind her.
"Ms. Hailey," Kaia called out.
Hailey stopped and turned to face her. "Ms. Ellington, I believe I made myself perfectly clear. Why are you still following me? Do you have nothing better to do?"
Kaia couldn't stand Hailey's cold tone. "Ms. Hailey, you—"
Out of the corner of her eye, Kaia suddenly noticed a tall, striking figure approaching.
It was Jonah.
Kaia immediately put on a wounded, innocent look. "Ms. Hailey, I didn't seduce Mr. Pilsner. Why would you call me a whore?"
Hailey fell silent. She had no idea what Kaia was talking about.
Before she could say a word, Kaia grabbed her hand. "Ms. Hailey, please, let me explain… I—ah!"
In one swift motion, Kaia yanked Hailey's hand across her own face.
She stumbled backward, nearly falling.
Then, a hand shot out and caught her just in time, steadying her by the arm.
Kaia looked up. "Mr. Pilsner."
Hailey saw Jonah as well. In fact, the moment Kaia started acting out of character, she had already guessed he was there.
Kaia was putting on a whole act for Jonah. It was ridiculous.
Hailey let out a cold laugh. "See that? That's what it means to get slapped!"
Kaia was furious, but with Jonah standing right there, she had to endure it.
All she could do was let her eyes well with tears and turn to him with a pitiful look.
"Mr. Pilsner, look at Ms. Hailey. What did I even do to deserve this? Why is she so angry with me…"
Hailey stared at her with pure disdain. "Ms. Ellington, do you want me to slap you again?"
As she spoke, she raised her hand again, aiming for Kaia's cheek.
However, before she could slap her across the face, a firm hand shot out and caught Hailey's slender wrist.

When will Hailey show that she is Adam's cousin and be ruthless? Joanne needs to be put in her place and realize Jonah does not want her. Ewan is just as bad as she is. Hailey needs to get help from Celine or Adam if she doesn't want Jonah to find out what's happening....
If the focus has to go on other characters in the book, at least make it more interesting! They were separated for three years, and still having love rivals! Especially one from the past!!! Why can’t Ewan and Joanne move in together and move on!!...
Imagine the long read if they decide to switch back to Adam and Celine. Not reading this with the same enthusiasm from the beginning....
How does anyone in their senses meet up with someone who almost hurt them and their unborn child. This author is dumb and needs to wrap this crap up. All of a sudden Hailey and kala are playing Celine and Carly's role as another character. Nonsense....
