The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 765

Timothy just smiled and patted Natalie on the head. "It's not tiring for me, but after these past few days, I can see that Marcus truly cares about you.

"He won't hurt you or let you suffer. Even when he's throwing up badly, he still quietly washes your underwear at night. Sorry, that probably wasn't something I should've brought up."

He paused for a moment. "Nat, what I'm trying to say is he passed our tests. From now on, we can feel at ease leaving you in his hands. Even if we're not around, we trust that he'll love and protect you and never mistreat you.

"Of course, nothing in life is ever guaranteed. But I also know you aren't someone people can easily walk over."

"I get what you're saying, Timothy." Natalie stepped forward and hugged him. "You're giving me and Marcus some space to be alone."

"I'm glad you understand," Timothy said. "Mason will head home first. I'll head back at the next stop. I'll wait until Marcus stops throwing up so badly and make sure he's okay before I leave."

"Alright." Natalie nodded. "Timothy, do you have anyone you like?"

Timothy shook his head. "Not at the moment. But I'm not planning on staying single forever. If I meet someone I like, I'll go after her. You don't need to worry about my love life."

"Then, promise me that you will share the good news with me first if you do get a girlfriend!"

"Deal. I promise."

After chatting for a while longer, Timothy urged Natalie to get some rest.

Since finding out Natalie was pregnant, the group planned their trip carefully and always booked a hotel for the night, even though they were traveling in an RV. They wouldn't let her sleep in the vehicle.

Natalie didn't mind it, but Marcus and her two brothers wouldn't allow it.

When she returned to the hotel room, Marcus was in the bathroom, washing her underwear.

She walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around him. Her stomach hadn't started to show yet, so her body fit perfectly against his back. "Marcus, are you exhausted?"

He turned around, his hands full of suds and bubbles. He wanted to hug her, but didn't want to get her wet.

"Not at all." He smiled gently. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

She shook her head. "No, I just feel bad for you."

"Don't," he said, pressing his forehead to hers. "Rest, now. I'll finish up here in a second. And don't feel bad for me. I'm doing this willingly."

She nodded. "I'll wash up and wait for you in bed."

"Okay."

She did as she said she would and lay in bed afterward. She placed a hand on her flat belly. It wouldn't be long before it started to grow. As time passed, her belly would swell, and all the typical pregnancy symptoms would show up one by one.

Marcus was only experiencing morning sickness for her. But as things progressed, there would be a lot of pain and discomfort that he wouldn't be able to take on for her.

She understood that motherhood was never easy.

Her mother, Charlotte, had given birth to five sons and still insisted on having her. If she hadn't been switched at birth, she would've grown up in the Walker residence, surrounded by love and pampering.

But even now, it wasn't too late.

It was just like what Federrick used to say. "You can't see the rainbow without facing the storm."

The hardships she'd been through would eventually become sweet rewards in her future. Just like now.

She scrolled on her phone for a bit in bed.
