The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 766

After Natalie decided to return home, she and Marcus joined Timothy and Mason for the return trip.

They continued traveling in the RV at a leisurely pace, sightseeing along the way. Whenever they saw something cute or unique, they bought it to bring back as gifts for the family.

Meanwhile, Laura, Wesley, Charlotte, and William had a heated argument over which house Natalie and Marcus would be staying in after returning.

Ultimately, Laura and Wesley admitted defeat, and Charlotte and William won the right to have Natalie stay with them and help raise their future grandchildren.

When Natalie and Marcus heard about the argument, they just smiled and stayed out of it.

Three months had passed as they made their slow return, taking their time to enjoy the trip. Natalie's baby bump was now showing. Actually, it was a bit bigger than that of most pregnant women.

They had stopped at a hospital mid-trip for a checkup, and she had found out how many babies she was carrying. However, she chose not to say anything and asked the doctor to keep it a secret. She feared that Marcus would start stressing and worrying again after the initial excitement.

Once they got home, Charlotte immediately pulled Natalie into her arms and gave her a complete once-over from head to toe. Her eyes welled up with tears. "My sweet baby, you've lost weight, and you're so tanned now."

Natalie chuckled. "Mom, I haven't lost weight. In fact, I've gained some! I didn't even have morning sickness. That was all Marcus. As for the tan, yeah, I did get a little darker."

She'd stopped using sunscreen due to her pregnancy. Even though Marcus always held an umbrella over her when they were out, she still ended up with a bit of a sun-kissed glow. "My complexion will go back to normal after resting at home for some time."

After hugging her, Charlotte pulled her to the couch. "Tell me what you want to eat. I'll make it for you. Gorge already stocked the kitchen with a ton of food, just waiting for you to come home."

"Mom, I'm having twins," Natalie said, resting her hand on her belly. "I found out during the checkup. They're a boy and a girl."

"Really?" Charlotte jumped to her feet, absolutely thrilled. "Honey! Our daughter's having twins—a boy and a girl!"

"Really?" William was shocked and delighted, too. But after their excitement came a wave of concern.

"Twins? That means we have to be even more careful."

"My poor daughter, I hate that you have to go through this."

"This isn't suffering!" Natalie smiled. "I love my babies. I'm so excited to meet them."

"Marcus, you'd better take extra care of her," Charlotte said, turning to Marcus, who looked completely stunned and was still processing what Natalie had just said.

"I need to tell Laura and Wesley!" Charlotte pulled out her phone and immediately dialed Laura's number.

She hadn't told them about Natalie and Marcus's travel plans before, as they didn't want to risk the in-laws trying to claim more time with Natalie.

But now, she was too happy to keep the news to herself.

"Laura, Nat's having twins—a boy and a girl!"

"Are you serious?" Laura's voice came through, choked with emotion. "That's amazing. A son and a daughter in one go—it's perfect.

"I'm going to be a grandma. I'll have a grandson and a granddaughter! This is wonderful news!

"But poor Nat, it will be tough for her. I'm coming over to take care of her."

As she spoke, she was already packing. "Charlotte, can I move into your place for a while? I want to help look after my daughter-in-law, too."

"Well... I don't think that's necessary." Charlotte hesitated. "Nat's staying with me, so don't worry. I'm her mother and will take good care of her."

"Charlotte, we already lost the battle over the babies. Can't you let me take care of her just this once?"

"Laura, I'm just worried about you," Charlotte said. "You and Wesley missed out on so much because of your health. If it weren't for your illness, you two wouldn't have had only one son.
