After hanging up the phone, Laura thought momentarily, then called Wesley. She told him everything that Charlotte, Marcus, and Natalie had said. After finishing, she asked a little nervously, "Wesley, do you want to take me on a trip?"
"I do," Wesley answered without hesitation. "Now that Marcus said he'll be returning to Holden Group to work, I can finally step back and be with you. Laura, we've missed out on so much. Over the years, I've been with you, but you were always in pain.
"I want to take you traveling—not to see doctors or chase down new treatment methods, but to enjoy the scenery and eat delicious food."
His voice softened a little. "I'm really grateful to Charlotte, William, Marcus, and Natalie. They didn't blame us and have always considered our feelings. I'm truly thankful.
"Laura, I'll take you on that trip once I wrap things up with Marcus. This time, there will be no illness and no shame forcing us to hide away. You'll get to wear all kinds of beautiful dresses, and I'll take tons of pictures of you."
His excitement was apparent in his voice. "Laura, I'll start handling work now. You go ahead and start getting ready. I'll hand everything over to Marcus as soon as I can."
"Are you sure this is okay?" Laura was still a little hesitant. "Nat is pregnant with twins. Marcus should be there to take care of her as her husband."
"Don't worry about that. Nat is staying at the Walker residence. Charlotte, William, and her brothers are all doting on her. Honestly, there won't be much for Marcus to do."
Wesley knew better than Laura did. With so many people pampering Natalie, even when Marcus was home, he might not even get the chance to sleep in the same bed as her.
But he didn't say any of that to Laura. He figured that after spending some time with the Walkers and realizing he couldn't do much for Natalie, Marcus would naturally return to work. "Laura, trust me on this. It's time for us to spend more time together and make up for the years we've lost."
Laura exhaled deeply, then made up her mind. "Okay, I'll listen to you."
"Great. I'll get to work now. We'll depart once I've got everything settled. While you're at home, make a list of all the places you've wanted to visit. I'll take you to them all."
"Okay." Laura was getting excited too. "Then, hurry up with work! I'm going to look through the places I've always dreamed of visiting."
"Will do." Wesley hung up and immediately called Marcus. As soon as the call connected, he got straight to the point. "Marcus, when are you coming back to work? I want to take your mother on a trip.
"She's been through so much over the years—hiding away, unable to face anyone. I want to take her out to see the world and take pictures of her looking beautiful."
"The day after tomorrow," Marcus replied. "I'll get things in order today and tomorrow, then I'll take over everything."
"Good. It's a plan, then."
"Got it."
Wesley hesitated. "Marcus… do you blame me? Is it selfish of me to do this?"
"Dad, you and Mom deserve to enjoy some time alone together." Marcus chuckled. "You don't owe me anything."
"I've never blamed you or Mom, not once in all these years. You both had it really hard. I'm going to be a dad myself. Soon, I'll meet my son and daughter. I'm excited for what's coming."
His voice grew softer as he spoke. "Dad, take Mom on that trip and make up for all the hard times she's endured. I'll take good care of Nat and manage Holden Group. You won't need to worry."
"Thank you, Marcus." Wesley's voice choked a little. "I've been a terrible father. You've carried so much for me."
"Dad, we're family. There's no need to say things like that. Nat's staying at the Walker residence for a while, but she and I will head back to our place soon. We're planning to tell Grandpa the good news about the babies. He'd be so happy."
"Good. You should tell your grandfather yourself. He'll love hearing it from you."
"Okay, that's settled. I'm going to get ready now."
"Alright, go ahead."
Marcus hung up the phone and went back to Natalie, who was in her own room at the Walker residence. Naturally, Marcus was staying with her.
"Babe, let's return to Holden Residence in a couple of days. I'm planning to tell Grandpa the big news. Is that okay?"
"Of course." Natalie smiled. She grabbed Marcus' hand and placed it on her slightly rounded belly. "I'm going to Hector's hospital to set up my file. You'll need to come with me to every prenatal checkup."
"That goes without saying." He gently touched her belly. He couldn't help but marvel at how miraculous life was—how two people coming together could create something entirely new.
These babies were the fruit of their love, and because grandchildren were always extra loved, they were already showered with affection.
Marcus held Natalie close to him and said, "Thank you, sweetheart. I'll be the best dad I can be."
"I believe you," she said with a smile. "By the way, Marcus, I wanted to tell you that you don't need to get a vasectomy. I actually really like kids."
"Sweetheart, you're not thinking about having more, are you?" He looked at her. "Childbirth is tough on a woman's body. I don't want you to go through this again."
"I might not want to, but that doesn't mean you need to go get snipped. Or do you want me to get sterilized instead?"
He imagined the scene and immediately shook his head. "Nope, let's not do that."
"Marcus, there are plenty of ways to prevent pregnancy. What if I change my mind later, and you've already had the surgery? What if I want to have another baby?"
She looked at him. "I can't find another man to have one with, can I?"
"Absolutely not!" Mracus was instantly flustered. "Nat, you're not allowed to be with anyone else. If you want to have a baby, it has to be with me."
She laughed and hugged him, leaning into his arms. "Okay, you're the only one.
"Have you thought of names for the babies? Even though my parents and brothers already picked some, I want to know what you came up with, since you're their dad."
He picked her up and gently placed her on the big bed. "I'll go with whatever you choose."
She smiled. "Marcus, don't you have any opinions of your own?"
"Nope," he said seriously. "I'll just listen to you. I don't need my own opinions.
"Listening to my wife brings success. Thus, I'll listen to my wife."
Natalie couldn't help but laugh. She reached out and ruffled his hair.

This one gets us readers asking for more! Excellent story, great twists......
Hope Grandpa Charles lives long enough to see Marcus and Nat's children, please. It will make him happy to see life is still worth living and that he didn't fail raising Marcus at least. Let him be happy at least in this aspect. Thanks...
Finished till 538....Waiting for more...
This really hurts. I am confused if Yvette sent a msg saying old love to Charles through Charlene. Why isnt it in her confession. Or did she actually set vivian up into sleeping with that man? And later blackmailed vivian with it till vivian commited suicide? Did Yvetty yhinks Charles would marry her after vivians death but he remained loyal. Hence her anger?...
Hope Nat can cure Marcus' mom. Looking forward to new updates. Thank you...
