Chapter 66 A Deal Behind Her Back
The next morning, Estella came downstairs into the living room.

The dining table was covered with all kinds of breakfast-neatly plated and visually appetizing.
Zelda smiled. “Mr. Nathaniel asked me to prepare several options. Madam, see which one you like best.”
Victoria came out and couldn’t help praising, “Nathaniel’s so thoughtful. Estella, a husband like this—it’s extremely rare.”
Estella immediately lost her appetite.
“I’m not hungry. I’m going out for a walk,” she said blandly.
This villa was filled with nothing but bad memories.
She hadn’t slept well at all last night.
If it weren’t for her mother, she would’ve left long ago.
Just as she was heading out, Nathaniel came down from the second floor.
He looked at her with concern. “Estella, you’re not eating? Skipping breakfast is bad for health.”
She didn’t respond and walked right past him out the door.

Nathaniel, knowing Victoria was watching, showed just the right hint of sadness on his face.
Victoria’s heart ached at the sight and quickly tried to console him. “Don’t worry. I’ll talk to her for you. She really doesn’t know how to appreciate things.”
Nathaniel sighed helplessly. “Mom, don’t scold her. She’s still mad at me. I know I’ve done a lot wrong. I’ll change. I just want her to see that I really love her.”
Victoria eagerly chimed in, “You haven’t done anything wrong! It’s Estella-she’s spoiled. I really did indulge her too much.”
Estella grabbed a bun from a nearby breakfast shop and had just taken a bite when her phone
rang.
She answered. It was a real estate agent.

“Ms. Estella, a client is interested in buying your villa. Would you be available today to discuss the details?”
Estella perked up immediately. “Yes, definitely! What time did they schedule?”
“9:30 at our office. Can you make it? I’ll send you the address.”
“Yes, I’ll be there.”
She hung up and checked the time-it was almost nine. It would take half an hour by taxi.
She finished her bun in a few bites and rushed to catch a ride.
At the real estate office, the agent greeted her alongside a man in a suit.
“Ms. Estella, this is the client’s assistant, Mr. Wood. The buyer couldn’t come in person, so Mr. Wood will handle the transaction on their behalf.”
Estella shook hands with him. “Hello, Mr. Wood.”
“Just call me Damien,” he said politely.
He had been personally instructed by Mr. Jeremy to handle this flawlessly.
After a detailed conversation, they finalized the time for the property handover.
Estella was surprised by how straightforward the whole thing was. The buyer didn’t haggle over the price and even offered to pay in full.
But considering he had an assistant, he was probably someone of considerable wealth. It all made sense.
Once the villa sold, she would receive eighty million.
With that, she’d no longer have to worry about funding her startup.
After her discussion with Damien, Estella left in high spirits.
Mr. Wood, meanwhile, returned to his car and called Jeremy. “Mr. Jeremy, it’s done. Ms. Estella agreed to sell at eighty million.”
Jeremy raised an eyebrow. “Good. I’ll transfer the money shortly. Use your name for the purchase.”
“Yes, sir.”

Jeremy hung up and looked over at Jonathan.
“I bought the villa for you. You’ll be covering the bill, right?”
Jonathan pulled out his phone and transferred the funds. “Of course.”
Jeremy glanced at him. “You’re really not going to tell Estella?”
Jonathan shot him a warning look. “Don’t meddle.”

Jeremy sighed but then remembered something. “By the way, I video-chatted with Mia last night. She told me Wendy’s back in the country. She already knows you’re in Javerton. You know she’s always had a thing for you-you’d better be careful.”
Jonathan frowned at the mention of Wendy.
Her mother and his had been lifelong friends, and the two families were close.
Wendy had clung to him since childhood.
But he’d never liked her spoiled, self-centered ways.
Two
years ago, her mother suffered a heart attack and went abroad for treatment. Wendy had gone with her, giving him a much-needed break.
Now that she was back, she’d definitely stir up trouble again.
Seeing the way Jonathan rubbed his forehead, Jeremy burst out laughing. “If you’d just hurry up and marry Estella, Wendy wouldn’t stand a chance. Come on, man. Get to it!”
It was late when Estella returned to the Hartwell villa.
Both Victoria and Nathaniel were waiting for her to have dinner.
Nathaniel asked Zelda to reheat the dishes, then turned to Estella. “Mom told me your favorite dishes are salt-baked shrimp and stir-fried clams. I made both tonight-try some.”
Victoria added, “Nathaniel came home early just to cook for you. Can’t you at least appreciate him a little, coming home this late?”
