The Mischievous Doctor (Finnegan and Nuthana) novel Chapter 435

“Dr. Cooper, what exactly happened to my father?”

While Finnegan was using Tatiana to cancel the Blood Moon attack and peacefully catch up on sleep, chaos erupted in the special care ward of General Hospital.

In just two days, Devin, who could still sit up earlier, was paralyzed from the neck down.

After the examination, Alexander signaled to Maxim and the others not to worry. “Let's talk outside.”

With a pallid complexion, Devin began to speak, appearing extremely weak. “Alexander, you can talk about it right here. I can handle it!”

Hesitating, Alexander sighed, “Old Mr. Gallagher, based on the examination just now, although there are no signs of necrosis in the nerves below your head, they have lost activity. Medically speaking, you are now paralyzed below the head.”

Upon hearing this, Maxim and the others showed a slight change in expression.

Only Devin gave a bitter smile. “He got it right again.”

That day, Finnegan's claim of urinating blood had been confirmed, and now he found himself completely bedridden.

Naturally, Alexander was aware of the situation. He said, “Old Mr. Gallagher, I suggest you find a way to invite Mr. Larkin. Apart from him, I doubt anyone else can cure you.”

After saying that, he signaled the medical staff to leave.

In the end, only the Gallagher family remained. Abigial and Emory dared not speak.

After all, they too had a part in offending Finnegan.

But at this moment, Devin no longer had the energy to reprimand them.

Weakly, he called Maxim, “Is there no solution yet?”

Maxim responded, “I have already contacted the Loang Medical Council, hoping that Mr. Darius Hicks can come over, but there has been no response so far. I've also contacted other miracle doctors, but they all said they couldn't help.”

Pausing, Maxim glanced at Devin before continuing, “I've also reached out to those top foreign medical teams. They said they would look into it. But judging from their previous responses, they probably can't do anything. Otherwise, they would have come already.”

With a grave voice, Devin said, “So, does that mean we can't get anyone else except Finnegan now?”

“At the moment, that seems to be the case!”

The hospital room subsequently fell into silence. Maxim and his family of three dared not speak.

After a long while, Devin said, “Let's wait a few more days and see if my kidneys will deteriorate as he predicted. If it turns out to be true... no matter what, you must bring him to me, by any means necessary. Otherwise, if I die, you brothers can fight over it yourselves.”

In other words, if he were allowed to live, Maxim's family would have a larger share of the inheritance.

If he were to die, Maxim and his brothers would have to fight amongst themselves, each relying on their own abilities to get the inheritance.

A bitter look flashed across Maxim's eyes as he responded, “Understood!”

Subsequently, the family of three left the ward and made their way to the corridor.

Emory asked, “Dad, what should we do? Grandpa is making it clear that whoever can save him will get the most inheritance. But given his current condition, how is that even possible?”

Maxim responded darkly, “Do I need you to tell me that?”

Sensing Maxim's anger, Emory dared not speak any further.

Maxim turned to look at the hospital room and said to Abigial, “Contact Mr. Darius Hicks again and urge those foreign medical teams. If that doesn't work, we may have to go and find Finnegan again.”

Abigial frowned. “Dad, Finnegan has made it clear. If we want him to take action, Emory, and I, along with Grandpa, have to go and beg together!”

With a cold snort, Maxim asked, “Do you think your grandpa will do that? Or, will he do that unless he is on the brink of death?”

Yuvan was his cousin. He was well aware of how dire the situation had become.

“Don't worry; I'll make sure Finnegan intervenes to cure Yasmine and Yuvan. In a few days, you can accompany me back to Jadeborough,.”

Just then, Brutus approached from a distance, his brows furrowed.

Hank raised an eyebrow. “Has something happened?”

“Indeed, something has happened.” Brutus nodded. “In Jadeborough, Tyrone suddenly announced his retirement from the martial world, handing over everything to his underling Leonardo Terrano, pledging allegiance to the Wahlstrom family. After investigating, I found out that Finnegan had intervened. He managed to dismantle the deeply rooted Tyrone without shedding a drop of blood, ensuring that the Wahlstrom family faced no further troubles in Nuthana.”

He then detailed the investigation results to Hank.

After listening, Hank's usually calm expression gained a touch of seriousness. “So, as long as the Wahlstrom family suppresses the Zymons family, there will be no more threats to Wahlstrom's dominance in the five states in the southern region? And Finnegan's foothold in the southern region will become even more secure?”

Brutus nodded. “That's right.”

Catherine found it hard to accept. “How could this be? How could a man of such humble origins be worthy of all this? Is the Wahlstrom family blind?”

Hank shot a cold glance at Catherine, who had too many unnecessary words.

After intimidating her into lowering her head, he asked, “Did you find out who Finnegan's master is?”

“Not yet. It seems someone is deliberately concealing it.”

Upon hearing this, Hank furrowed his brows and said, “It seems we can't delay any longer as things have gotten a bit out of hand!”

Brutus inquired, “What's your plan, Mr. Weatherby?”

Hank looked up at the sky, shrouded in clouds. “Cancel the trip to Jipsdale and head to Jadeborough immediately.”
