Luke sent her a photo of fireworks and asked, Want to see the baby?

Felicia had never brought up the baby. He knew it was because she was worried it would hurt too much. Still, he was sure she wanted nothing more than to see her little girl.

Felicia stared at Luke’s message for a long time before quietly heading back to her room. Only then did she finally reply, Okay.

She just couldn’t help herself.

Luke sent over a few photos of Anne, each one cuter than the last. One with her fast asleep, one with a big smile on her face... Anne was beautiful. She had big, sparkling eyes that turned into perfect crescents when she laughed, a tiny, delicate nose, rosy lips, and soft, fair cheeks.

Felicia’s eyes stung as she looked at the photos.

She set her phone aside and looked out the window, trying to calm down. Once she’d pulled herself together, she messaged Luke again. Is Max good to her?

That was what worried her the most.

Luke replied, He really loves Anne. He takes care of her himself most of the time. He kept the scarf and hat too.

At ten, Ava told her to get some rest.

Felicia wished everyone good night and curled up in bed.

On New Year’s Day, Colton and Ava went out for a walk, leaving Greg at home to keep Felicia company.
