A sudden cry rang out.

Andrea stumbled and fell hard onto the court.

Everyone froze in shock.

Max hurried over, dropping to his knees beside her to check if she was okay.

Tears welled up in Andrea’s eyes as her voice trembled with pain. “Max, my face hurts so much.”

A bright red mark was already blooming across her cheek where the ball had hit her.

People rushed over to help.

Colt called out, telling the staff to get a doctor right away.

Felicia and Jeremy quickly made their way around the net.

Max scooped Andrea up in his arms. Felicia spoke up, her voice calm and collected. “Mr. Hawthorne, I’ll cover her medical bills and compensate her for any distress.”

Colt jumped in quickly. “This is on me. I shouldn’t have suggested the game. Mr. Hawthorne, Evelynn didn’t mean any harm.”

He felt guilty since it was his idea, and now someone had gotten hurt.

Kennedy added support for Felicia, saying, “Max, accidents happen in sports. We should get Andrea to the nurse first.”

Max stared at Felicia with unreadable dark eyes but said nothing. He just carried Andrea away in long, determined strides.

The match had barely begun and already something had gone wrong. Continuing was out of the question.

Kennedy followed after them and glanced back at Felicia, but he didn’t get a chance to say anything before turning away.

Colt told Felicia he was going to check on Andrea.

Savannah watched the group leave and let out a cold laugh. “So fragile. Maybe she should have just stayed home..”

She looked over at Felicia. “Are you sure you didn;t do it on purpose?”
