Tatiana rushed straight to the office to pick Anne up. The moment she saw her, she knew something was off, but no matter how she asked, Anne kept quiet. All afternoon, Anne barely said a word. Even when Tatiana made her favorite snacks, she just pushed the plate away. Tatiana felt helpless watching her like this.
When Brandon got home, he and Tatiana tried everything to make Anne smile. They took her outside for a bit of fresh air, letting her run around downstairs. Slowly, Anne’s mood started to lift. She even ate a little more at dinner.
Max didn’t say much. “I’ll go check on her.”
He walked quietly to her room and opened the door as gently as he could. The soft yellow light filled the pink, cozy princess-themed room. Anne was curled up under the covers, fast asleep, a fluffy bunny clutched in her arms. On her nightstand, Max noticed a pearl bracelet and a handmade flower crown.
He sat on the edge of her bed, just watching her peaceful little face. He reached out and brushed a stray lock of hair from her forehead. He wasn’t sure how long he sat there before he finally stood up and left the room.
Tatiana and Brandon were waiting for him in the living room.
As Max walked out, Brandon looked up. “Anne hardly ever gets upset with you. What happened?”
Anne had always listened to her dad. She might pout sometimes, but she’d never shut herself off like this before.
Max sat down with them. “She’s just having a moment. She’ll be fine by tomorrow.”
Brandon let it go, but Tatiana wasn’t done. “So, what’s going on with you and Andrea?” she asked. “Anne really seems to like her. She’s growing up, you know. You can’t be on your own forever. Maybe it’s time to think about your own happiness. Besides, it’d be good for Anne to have someone else to look out for her.”
Max just shook his head. “Let’s wait until Anne’s a bit older.”
Tatiana sighed. She knew her son would make his own choices when it came to marriage. After Anne was born, she had finally accepted Felicia, but it still stung to think Felicia had abandoned her own child. Just thinking about it made Tatiana angry. Did Felicia really think the Hawthorne family was just a pit stop? Did she think she could walk in and out of their lives whenever she pleased?
Tatiana pressed on. “Have you finished the divorce with Felicia yet?”
A shadow passed through Max’s eyes. “Not yet.”

Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
