That afternoon, on her way to pick up Anne, her phone buzzed. It was Gavin.

“Want me to recommend a top cardiologist?” she shot back.

Today, Gavin just wanted to check in, asking how work and life were treating her. Felicia was surprised he had the time. She knew he was in the middle of some fancy party, mingling with the upper crust. Yet here he was, calling her.

“Max is over there chatting away with the Felix family’s daughter. I think Miss Felix has quite a thing for him,” Gavin said.
