When Anthony walked into the office and spotted Felicia, he couldn’t hide his surprise. “You’re in early today. Not spending time with Anne?”
Felicia took a sip of her coffee and shrugged. “Max is in Northwick.”
Anthony raised his eyebrows. “He really does spoil Anne. Honestly, if I’d known, maybe you shouldn’t have brought her along in the first place.”
Felicia let out a sigh, somewhere between helpless and annoyed. “I know, right?” She wasn’t sure if Max was actually here for work or if he had some other motive.
Anthony watched her for a moment, like he wanted to say something more, but then just let it go. The situation was complicated. Anne was Felicia’s daughter, and after five years apart, it made sense that Felicia couldn’t just let go, especially with how much Anne needed her. It was just the way things went—mothers always let their hearts lead when it came to their kids.
Still, Anthony finally said, “Felicia, when Anne’s older, she’s going to understand everything you’ve done.”
Felicia nodded quietly. “I know.”
By two in the afternoon, the signing ceremony was all set up. Reporters were already gathering, and the room was packed with important guests. Jim was there, but so was Mr. Hank Curtis father. He was almost sixty but looked sharp and carried himself with the kind of presence you only see in the head of a powerful family.
Next to him stood a young guy, probably not even twenty, who looked striking in a suit, even though you could still see the energy of youth in his eyes. He was the image of Andrea’s mother, and you didn’t have to guess twice about who he was.
But what really caught Felicia off guard was seeing Darin there too. He and Hank were deep in conversation, looking for all the world like the perfect, happy family.
Felicia leaned over and couldn’t help muttering, “Just watching them makes me feel awkward.”
Anthony grinned and lowered his voice. “That’s what it takes to be at the top. You have to put up with things most people never could.”
Hank and Darin made their way over to shake hands. When Hank saw Felicia, he paused and looked at her a bit longer than necessary before smiling. “I didn’t realize Roen Capital had someone so talented and beautiful on their team.”

Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
