Felicia made her way upstairs. She walked into the bedroom, calm and collected. Anne was still sitting on the bed, rubbing her eyes and yawning. “Evelynn!” she called out.
“You’re awake, huh.”
Anne held her arms up, wanting a cuddle. Felicia scooped her up and patted her gently on the back. Holding her daughter close made Felicia’s heart feel even heavier.
“Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?” she asked softly.
Anne nodded right away. Felicia told the maid to bring some food, then took Anne to the bathroom so they could get her washed up and into her pajamas. By the time they came out, Anne’s snack was waiting on a tray.
“Where’s Daddy?” Anne asked.
“He’s busy right now. Let’s get some snacks first,” Felicia said.
Anne just nodded and sat back down. Felicia stayed with her in the bedroom, watching cartoons and sharing little bites of food. When Anne had finally drifted off to sleep again, Felicia walked over to the big windows. From there, she could see the front gate.
Outside, Darin was opening the passenger door for Andrea. She climbed in, and Darin glanced back, saying something to Max before he got in, too. The car pulled away, followed by a bright red Ferrari.
Once the cars were gone, Max walked back toward the house. As he stepped inside, he looked up at the second floor. Felicia saw him and quickly closed the curtains.
A few minutes later, the bedroom door opened. Max came in, his eyes going first to Anne, who was already asleep, then over to Felicia, who was sitting on the sofa with her tablet. She was scrolling through photos of Anne and the two of them together, barely looking up.
Max spoke quietly. “Come out here. We need to talk.”
Felicia kept her eyes on the screen, her tone cool and even. “The only thing we need to talk about is the divorce. There’s nothing else between us worth discussing.”
Max stared at her for a long moment. The room went quiet. Eventually, he turned and left, closing the door behind him.
Felicia’s fingers hovered over the tablet for a second, her hand suddenly still.
The next morning, Felicia got Anne ready to visit Heather’s house. Anne hugged her dad tightly before they left. “Daddy, Evelynn and I are going to Aunt Heather’s today. You have to be good while you’re home alone, okay?”
Max knelt down to hug her back. “You be good too, Anne.”

Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
