Jeremy paused, fingers hovering over the keyboard, and glanced at Heather. “So, what do you want?”
Heather shrugged. “I haven’t figured that out yet.”
“Whenever you do, just let me know.”
“Alright.”
She lingered, not making a move to leave. Jeremy raised an eyebrow. “Anything else?”
Heather tipped her chin up, her eyes sharp and knowing. “Come on, Jeremy, if you’ve got something to ask, just spit it out. Why are you acting like a stranger with me?”
Jeremy let out a tired, small laugh. He pulled off his glasses and leaned back, rubbing the corners of his eyes before looking at her again. “What did you say to Felicia?”
Heather told him everything, not leaving anything out.
Jeremy nodded. “I figured.”
Heather smirked. “You really do know Felicia well.”
Jeremy said, “If Max had ever shown Felicia even the slightest bit of kindness, she wouldn’t be this determined now.”
Heather didn’t know exactly what Felicia had been through, but she could tell Max wasn’t someone who felt much for others. He was always polite, and he even smiled when he looked at Felicia, but there was something cold behind that smile that made her uneasy.
“Felicia must be hurting a lot right now,” Heather said softly, worry clouding her expression.
The room fell quiet for a moment.
Then Heather grinned. “This is when Felicia needs someone the most, you know.”
Jeremy looked at her and shook his head. “Alright, that’s enough. Go get some rest.”

Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
