As they left the hospital, Felicia got a call from Greg. “Yeah, we’re just coming out,” she said. She’d already messaged Greg when she got in Max’s car, asking him to come pick them up.

After she hung up, she turned to Max. “My brother’s coming to get us. You don’t have to drive us home.”

While Felicia was talking, Anne piped up. “Evelynn, Daddy’s going to work overseas tomorrow. Can we have dinner with him before he leaves?”
