Max didn’t say anything. He just glanced at her and said, “Is there anything you like?”
Felicia didn’t let herself breathe easy until they were well away from the shop. She finally stopped, leaning on a wall, and exhaled slowly. It was strange. The man she used to barely see always seemed to show up now, and always with another girl by his side, looking so happy together. It felt like the universe was playing a cruel joke, forcing her to watch, just to see how miserable she could get.
Luke noticed how shaken she was. His face tightened with concern. He started to reach out to comfort her, but his hand stopped in the air. He hesitated, fingers curling, then dropped his arm. “Let’s go sit somewhere for a bit. There’s a cafe up ahead.”
Felicia shook her head. “No, it’s okay. I’d rather just go home.”
“Alright.”
They took the elevator down to the basement parking and got in the car. Luke didn’t start the engine right away. He just held the steering wheel, staring at it for a moment before he finally spoke. “So… what are you planning to do now?”
He knew Max didn’t care about Felicia, but seeing how cold he was still surprised him. The way they acted around each other, you’d think they were strangers. Even with Felicia pregnant, Max seemed completely detached. Anyone could see how hard things were for her.
Felicia had pulled herself together by now. Her face was calm again. “Once the baby’s here, we’ll get divorced.”
Luke blinked, caught off guard. “You’re getting divorced?”
She nodded. “Yeah. I’m heading to the States next year for my PhD. Everything will work out. Don’t worry about me.” She turned to him, giving him a small, easy smile.
Luke just looked at her, then tried to smile back. “Good for you. Guess that means we won’t see each other much anymore.”
Felicia grinned, trying to lighten the mood. “You can always come visit if you miss me.”
He laughed under his breath. “Maybe I will.”
He finally started the car and pulled out of the garage.
As they drove, Felicia’s mind wandered to Savannah. She’d thought Savannah’s dad had met with Max, but it didn’t seem like that was the case. Now she was just left wondering how things were going on that end.
Luke broke her train of thought. “Do your grandparents know about the divorce?”
Felicia snapped back to the present. “I don’t think so. Max probably hasn’t told them yet. They’ll find out soon enough anyway.”
Luke nodded, not asking any more questions.

When is this going to end? Please update it pretty please. Thank you...
Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
