For the next two days, Max spent his evenings at home. Even so, he and Felicia barely crossed paths. That was fine by her. Right now, all she wanted was to get through her pregnancy safely and quietly.
After Miranda’s stern lecture, Marian and Amaris became much more considerate. They started making her breakfast every morning. Once Felicia finished her work at the university, she’d head straight to the yoga studio. Ava always got there early, waiting for her with dinner ready.
At Capital College, there was a famous avenue lined with ginkgo trees. Their leaves had turned a dazzling gold, shining like little stars in the winter sunlight. Students gathered there every day, snapping photos and posting them online.
From her office on the upper floor of the administration building, Felicia could see the golden avenue perfectly. That afternoon, Nate showed up at her building, which surprised her. As soon as he saw Felicia, he asked her to read the newspaper to him, just like before.
They sat together in the quiet office. Felicia read aloud, her voice filling the room. Around forty minutes slipped by.
“Alright, that’s enough for today,” Nate said.
Felicia set the newspaper aside. She noticed his mug was empty and picked it up. “Let me get you some more water.”
She walked over to the water cooler by the big windows. As she filled his thermos, she glanced outside and spotted two familiar figures down below.
Students passing by kept stopping to stare at the couple. Their faces lit up with admiration.
It was the middle of a busy workday, and Max had always been the type who barely had time for anyone. Yet now he was down there, making time for someone special.
Felicia dropped her gaze, turning away from the window. He’s the dream she once had when she was young. Now, she was just a bystander, watching Max and another girl live out that perfect romance. She tried to tell herself it didn’t hurt, but of course it did.
“What are you looking at?” Nate’s voice brought her back.
Felicia managed a smile. “The ginkgo leaves are beautiful today.” She walked back and set his mug on the desk.
Nate watched her for a moment, then said, “Jeremy told me he’s recommended you for Stanford.”
Felicia nodded. “I’ll go after the baby is born, next year.”
“And your husband’s family is okay with that?”

Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
