Chapter 711 Faking It
If they failed, she would never get another chance to take down the Starborn Order.
Since she had come this far, she would leave nothing standing. No matter what, she would crush the Starborn Order to dust.
“We need a plan.”
Half an hour later, they had just finished planning when someone knocked on the door urgently
Knock! Knock!
“Number Two, Theresa needs a physical examination.” Sage’s voice came from outside.
Sage had been waiting outside for half an hour and could no longer hold back.
Whatever information inside the room had been shielded by Herold’s psychic power.
He couldn’t see anything on the monitors, nor hear a sound.
Sage rushed over, using his key card to open the door after two perfunctory knocks.
Finished
Theresa’s room had no lock on it. For anyone with a clearance level high enough, the door could always be opened.
When he entered, he saw Theresa lying on the bed, surrounded by people.
The workers were earnestly explaining to Herold what injections they had given Theresa and where her current ability level was at.
Theresa cooperated fully, showing weakness and reduced strength, obeying their orders as if she were a toothless little tiger.
Sage frowned as he saw this and strode forward.
The men saw him coming and quietly packed up to leave.
Herold, however, gave him a very cold look. “You’re the new Number Ten?”
“Yes, sir.”
“You’re not allowed to come and go as you please. I’ll be in charge of this room.”
“No.” Sage’s usual gentle expression vanished, and his voice was stern. “Number One put me in charge here. According to hierarchy, I answer to Number One first, unless he tells me otherwise.”
Hearing this, Herold’s face darkened even more.
Just then, someone lying beside him coughed. Herold turned to look at Theresa.
She gave him a look telling him to let it go. Herold immediately understood and suppressed his anger, then turned his attention back to Sage.
“I’ll remember you, Number Ten.” Herold gave him one last cold glance before striding away.

As he left, Sage’s eyes followed his back, sharp and ruthless.
Good. Herold would remember him too.
“Well, didn’t you say I needed a physical examination?” Theresa asked just then. “Let’s go.”
She climbed out from under the blanket. By then, she had already changed back into her clothes.
Sage didn’t say anything. He took her downstairs to a medical examination room.
It was called a check.up, but in reality, it was something he had arranged himself.
Fimshed
He had people examine Theresa’s heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys, as well as her he pressure, and vision. Basically, everything that could be tested.
blood
Theresa couldn’t figure out exactly what they were trying to find, so after a moment’s thought, she deliberately acted weaker.
After all, she had supposedly just been injected with a zombie virus suppressant. She had to look the part.
During the lung capacity test, she gasped for air. When they tested her physical strength, she started panting after running only a few steps. She couldn’t even lift anything heavy.
Sage took note of everything, and his brows furrowed even tighter.
When the examination was finally over, he didn’t say a word as he led Theresa out.
“Tomorrow will be the third day. All those b*stards will be here, right?” she asked as she followed behind
him.
Sage didn’t respond as he kept walking.
“Hey! Are you deaf? I’m your future leader, you know,” she continued when he ignored her.
“Given your current state, who exactly do you think you can kill?” Sage suddenly stopped.
He pulled her into the emergency stairwell and glared down at her, his voice low and vicious. “You have nothing. You’re like a fish on the chopping board. What gives you the right to even think about killing them?”
Theresa fell silent for a moment.
