The club near the stadium was calm and discreet.
Danielle walked inside, her heels muffled by the plush carpet.
Alexander had reserved a private room. By the time she arrived, he was already there—dressed head to toe in black, eyes lowered, quietly savoring a cup of tea.
Steam spiraled from the teapot, the subtle fragrance of fresh leaves filling the room.
Danielle actually liked that scent—it was soothing in a way. Alexander, on the other hand, was practically obsessed with tea culture; he only drank coffee when sleep was a luxury he couldn't afford for work.
He glanced up as she entered. "Have a seat."
She sat across from him, gaze steady and unblinking. "What do you want to talk about?"
Danielle had only agreed to come because she assumed Alexander wanted to discuss the divorce.
He noticed the strange, complex look she gave him.
He poured a cup of tea and slid it in front of her. "Why were you at the stadium today?"
"That's none of your business."
Her tone was frosty, but he didn't seem bothered.
"Where are you and Niki staying?"
Her brow furrowed. "What is it you really want, Alexander?"
He didn't answer right away. Instead, he produced a small velvet box, setting it on the table and nudging it toward her.
Danielle's heart skipped. She remembered what today was—their wedding anniversary.
It was a date etched into her bones. No matter how much she tried, she couldn't forget it. Every year, she'd always been the one to reach out, to remind him.
Last time around, at this exact moment in her life, she'd cooked a lavish dinner and baked a cake herself. He'd promised he'd come home.
He never did.
She'd waited all night, alone. He'd told her he was busy.
Looking back now, she realized he'd been busy taking Millie to some competition.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
