Bianca’s face turned cold at once.
Her daughter-in-law, who used to obey her every word, was now openly defying her—even in public.
Danielle finished speaking and turned to leave.
“Stop right there!” Bianca snapped. “Who do you think you are, talking to me like that?”
Danielle didn’t even break stride.
“If you dare walk out that door today, I’ll make sure Alex divorces you! You can get out of the Davidson family for good!”
Danielle paused, looking over her shoulder with icy composure. “Gladly. Tell him to hurry up, I’ll be waiting.”
With that, she walked away without a backward glance.
If not for the binding agreement between them, she could have announced right then that their divorce was already a done deal.
Bianca stared after her, eyes wide in disbelief.
Unbelievable!
Who had spoiled Danielle into this kind of person? She’d gone from meek and obedient to outright rebellious.
It was all the old matriarch’s doing—indulging her far too much. Now Danielle really thought she was someone important.
If Bianca didn’t put her foot down soon, this daughter-in-law would be walking all over her in no time.
Bianca was so furious her chest heaved.
“Auntie, please don’t be upset,” Millie soothed, reaching for her hand. “I’ll talk to Alex and have him speak to Danielle. She shouldn’t treat you like this…”
Bianca squeezed Millie’s hand. “Why couldn’t a wonderful girl like you be my daughter-in-law?”
Millie smiled softly. “If it’s meant to be, maybe we’ll be family someday.”
That thought cheered Bianca up a little, and she glanced out the window.
“Looks like it’s about to rain. Call Alex and have him come pick us up, will you?”
—
Meanwhile—
The trio stepped out of the boutique.
Kirsten waved her hand in front of her face, trying to cool off. “Can you believe those Davidson people? Who do they think they are, acting so high and mighty?”
Danielle was about to respond when she felt Niki squeeze her hand.
Glancing down, Danielle gently ruffled Niki’s hair.
Niki was too young to understand the conversation, but she could sense the tension between the adults.
“Sweetheart, it’s okay. Grandma’s just upset, that’s all.”
Niki bit her lip. “She looked really mad. She won’t hurt you anymore, right, Mommy?”
“She won’t,” Danielle assured her.
Today had just been an unpleasant surprise.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
