Listening to Leanne speak, the event organizer instinctively glanced over at Danielle, taking in her appearance from head to toe. It was hard not to be a little impressed—Danielle really was striking, with a classic beauty that caught the eye.
But the organizer quickly looked away, clearing their throat. “So, is she a friend of yours?”
Leanne smiled, pulling Raffy a little closer to her side and replied softly, “She used to be my dear grandson’s nanny.”
The organizer nodded in sudden understanding. “Ah, I see. Ms. Leanne, you really do treat your help well.”
Leanne gave a satisfied little smile and shot Danielle a smug look. “The organizer agrees—you can come sit with us.”
As if Danielle could ever get access to such a privileged spot without them, these so-called “VIPs.”
Danielle’s lips curled into a cool, almost frosty smile. “No, thank you. I never learned how to climb my way up by clinging to someone else’s coattails. You can keep those bootlicking skills for yourself.”
With that, she took Niki’s hand and walked away, leaving the air tinged with tension.
Her words left Millie’s expression sour. Danielle had just managed to insult both her and her mother, inside and out.
“Alex,” Millie murmured, pressing her lips together. “After what happened with Grandma, I think Danielle still holds a grudge against me.”
“How can she call it social climbing? Alexander and I have always been equals, good friends since childhood.”
Alexander cast her a calm glance, his tone even and unreadable. “Does her opinion matter that much to you?”
Millie faltered, the words she wanted to say catching in her throat.
“Not really…” She frowned. “I just think she looks down on people too much.”
Alexander arched a brow, methodically smoothing his sleeve. “Everyone has their own pride, Millie. It’s important to respect yourself. Forcing a connection rarely ends well.”
The organizer, listening in, felt completely lost by their conversation.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
