She gently settled Niki into the back seat, buckled her daughter’s safety belt with extra care, then tucked a small blanket around her before making her way to the driver’s seat.
As she started the engine, Danielle couldn’t help glancing toward the private dining room where Alexander had been. The lights were already off—she had no idea if he’d left, or if anything might have happened after she walked out.
With a shake of her head, she forced herself to let it go.
Stop thinking about him. His problems have nothing to do with you anymore.

At dawn the next morning, Danielle was up early, packing the very last of their things.
She set the suitcase by the door. Niki, still rubbing sleep from her eyes, let Danielle lift her into the car and strap her in.
Before leaving, Danielle paused to take one final look at the house where she’d spent the past few years. This place held laughter and tears, memories of struggling side by side with Niki. It was time to say goodbye, once and for all.
“Mommy, when will we get to our new home?” Niki clutched her favorite stuffed bunny, curiosity sparkling in her voice.
“Very soon, sweetheart. When we get there, I’ll take you out for something delicious,” Danielle said, smiling as she ruffled her daughter’s hair.
Just as she was about to get in the car, Danielle spotted a familiar figure standing under a streetlamp at the end of the drive.
Nathan.
He strode over, a gentle smile on his face, a bag in his hand. “Danielle, you’re leaving so early? I came by to see you off.”
He held out the bag. “This is for Niki—some snacks and toys for the drive. Thought it might help keep her entertained.”
Danielle’s expression tightened. She stepped back, pointedly avoiding the bag, her voice cool. “That’s not necessary, Mr. Davidson. Thank you, but we’re fine. There’s no need to trouble yourself.”
Without another word, Danielle turned and climbed into the driver’s seat. “Niki, say goodbye to your uncle.”
Niki, sensing her mother’s mood, mumbled a quiet, “Bye, Uncle Nathan,” then settled obediently in her seat.
Danielle started the car, pressed the gas, and drove away, leaving Nathan standing alone on the curb.
He watched as the car disappeared down the street, his smile vanishing completely, his face darkening with anger. His fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white, eyes shadowed and cold.
—
The drive was a blur. Danielle’s thoughts churned restlessly, fragments of memory and regret spinning through her mind.
But it was time—time to say goodbye to the past, and leave it behind for good.

I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
