He remembered what Rebecca had told him yesterday: *She didn’t call you.*
He had intentionally switched to an unused number and locked his social media profiles, all to force her to move on completely.
But sometimes, he just couldn’t control his own heart.
Whenever he saw Danielle, all he wanted to do was look at her, to hold her.
The emotions would surge, and he would have to force them back down, time and time again.
“Keep a close eye on Nathan. Don’t let him bother Danielle again,” Alexander said coolly, his gaze shifting to Nash. “And the car crash—what have you found?”
At the mention of the accident, Nash’s expression turned grim. “We have a lead. The car that hit you had stolen plates, and the owner’s information was fake.”
“The driver was a foreigner who left the country the same day. He’s already back in Aethelgard.”
“Aethelgard?” Alexander let out a dry, humorless laugh. “What a coincidence.”
That was where Nathan had studied abroad, spending five years building a network of connections.
“Nathan is in Aethelgard,” Nash said, understanding dawning on his face. “Are you saying this might be connected to him?”
“It’s not a possibility; it’s a certainty,” Alexander stated, his eyes turning ice-cold. “He’s always wanted to take over The Davidson Group. His previous attempts to harass Danielle were all about using her to get to me.”
“This accident was his attempt to get rid of me once and for all, so he could seize complete control of the company and the guild.”
Nash’s face grew even more somber. “Should we go to the police? Or…”
“No,” Alexander cut him off, his voice calm but laced with a sharp edge. “We have no direct evidence right now. The police can’t do anything.”
With a heavy sigh, he turned off the phone.

That evening, Nash arrived with dinner. He had just set the food on the bedside table when he turned and saw Jake Davidson standing in the doorway. Dressed in a severe, dark suit that amplified his commanding presence, his face was devoid of warmth, etched with an undisguisable gravity.
“Your father is here,” Nash whispered, taking a few quiet steps back to give them space.
Jake waited for Nash to leave before striding to the bedside. His eyes scanned the plaster cast on Alexander’s left arm, his brow furrowing slightly, but he didn’t ask a single question about the injury.
He went straight to the point. “Your brother asked me to talk to you. He’s negotiating a major collaboration with the government and needs to coordinate a number of resources. I heard you have the necessary channels, yet you refused to help him?”
Leaning against the headboard, Alexander met his father’s words with a faint, mocking smile.

I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
