Right now, he had no appetite.

On the day of Alexander’s discharge from the hospital, he had just reached his car when he saw Bianca standing by a flowerbed nearby. She was holding an elegant insulated bag, her expression a mixture of concern and something more complicated.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
Bianca hurried over, offering him the bag. Her voice was intentionally soft. “I heard you were being discharged today, so I made you some soup to help you recover.”
“You poor child, getting hurt with no one to look after you. You really should have someone warm and caring by your side… How about I help you find someone?”
“Someone gentle and considerate, to build a nice life with.”
“Get married again?”
Alexander’s eyes were flat, his voice devoid of emotion except for a biting sarcasm. “Have you already forgotten the consequences of forcing me to marry Danielle? You want me to walk that same path again?”
Bianca’s hand froze, the bag nearly slipping from her grasp. She frowned, her tone hardening.
“That was then! You were the one who didn’t love Danielle, the one who pushed her away! What does that have to do with me? Now you’re all alone—are you going to blame someone else for that too?”
“I didn’t love her?”
Alexander looked at Bianca. “Mother, be honest with yourself. Did you and Father ever truly accept her as your daughter-in-law?”
“You always thought her background was too common, that she wasn’t good enough for the Davidson family. In your eyes, Millie Fletcher was the perfect choice. All you ever cared about was appearances.”
“You never once asked what I wanted, and you never saw how hard Danielle tried to fit into this family.”
The color drained from Bianca’s face. She opened her mouth to argue, but no words came out. She knew it was true. She had never truly approved of Danielle, always finding the girl too stubborn, too unwilling to flatter, unlike Millie, who knew just how to charm Jake and her.
With that, he turned, got into the car, and closed the door.
Nash placed the insulated bag on the passenger seat and started the engine, pulling away from the curb.
Through the window, Bianca’s figure grew smaller and smaller until she was just a blurry speck in the distance.
Alexander leaned back against the seat and closed his eyes, a heavy fog clouding his mind.
“Get Rebecca over here.”
Nash glanced at Alexander in the rearview mirror. His face was pale. He rarely called for Rebecca voluntarily.
When he did, it meant his emotional state had reached its breaking point.

I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
