At five in the afternoon, the offices of the Nexus Prime Aerospace Institute were growing quiet.
Danielle stared at the drone schematics on her computer screen, but her fingers had been still on the keyboard for a long time. The clock in the corner of the screen ticked forward, a silent reminder that it was time to pick up Niki.
She thought of Alexander’s expression last night…
With a frown, she hesitated for a few seconds before picking up her phone, finding that familiar number, and pressing dial.
The phone rang three times before he answered.
“Hello?” Alexander’s voice came through the receiver.
“It’s me,” Danielle said, her voice a little tight. “Something came up at work, and I can’t leave. Where are you right now? Could you… could you possibly pick up Niki?”
There was a moment of silence on the other end. Danielle could faintly hear the sound of traffic and his soft breathing. She felt a knot of anxiety, afraid he would refuse. After all, he had never once picked Niki up from school.
“I’m in a meeting, but it’s almost over,” Alexander’s voice came again. “Send me the address. I’ll head there now.”
“Okay. Thank you,” Danielle said, relieved. She quickly sent him the school’s address, adding, “She might be a little shy with you at first. Please be patient with her…”
“I will.”
He agreed and hung up.

OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this,readers might lose interest in the long run....
