Three Years Wasted I Married Mr. Right novel Chapter 190

Chapter 190

The air in the hospital room felt heavy, and Richard tried to shift Sophia’s attention.

Do you want some more water?he asked.

Sophia felt a little awkward but went along with it and nodded. Sure, thanks.”

Richard got up to get her some water, and right at that moment, Annabelle stepped out of the little kitchen.

She had a freshly washed bowl and spoon in hand and headed over to ladle out some steaming soup.

The smell of meat filled the air in the hospital room.

Sophia’s stomach let out a few grumbles, and she was so embarrassed she couldn’t even meet Richard’s gaze.

Just then, Richard’s phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID.

Catching Sophia’s discomfort out of the corner of his eye, he said considerately, I’ll take this call outside.”

As soon as Richard stepped out, Sophia finally breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Annabelle with anticipation.

Come on, bring that soup here alreadyI’m starving!

Annabelle carried the bowl of soup over and settled down in front of her. It’s pretty hot, let me cool it down a bit.

Forget blowing on itif you keep going, I’ll starve to death right here,Sophia teased.

Sophia snatched the bowl straight from her hands. Fortunately, it had cooled off while Annabelle walked over, so it wasn’t burning hot anymore.

Annabelle couldn’t help but stare as Sophia devoured the soup like someone who hadn’t seen food in forever.

Fearing Sophia might choke, Annabelle rushed to remind her, Hey, slow downdon’t hurt yourself.

Sophia practically inhaled the soup, practically cleaning her bowl in seconds. By the time she stopped, her lips and tongue were buzzingshe’d definitely burnt herself.

Can you get me another bowl? I promise I’ll eat slower this time,Sophia said, catching her breath.

Annabelle shot her a look. Seriously, anyone who saw you right now would think you hadn’t eaten for several years.”

Despite her words, Annabelle still went and ladled out the very last halfbowl from the thermos, setting it down in front of Sophia.

That’s all we’ve got left, so make it count,Annabelle said.

Sophia finally slowed down, enjoying the taste of the soup. So, tell me how did you guys find me that day?

Some folks from the town saw Lucas dragging you off into the mountains. We honestly thought he was abou to kill you and bury you out there,Annabelle said.

Sophia’s eyes turned cold. He tied me to a tree. Might as well have been trying to kill me

Good thing we found you in time and got you out of there. You have no idearight after we left, a flash flood hit,” Annabelle said.

Even now, just remembering it gives me the chills, Annabelle thought.

If they’d been even a little later, Sophia might’ve been swept away by the flood.

Sophia felt a chill run down her spine. Is Lucas dead?

Nope, he’s alive and kicking. Seriously, some people just never die. Why on earth did he drag you into the mountains and tie you up?Annabelle couldn’t figure it out.

Sophia gave a helpless look. I honestly don’t know what kind of craziness took over him. He was dead set on picking wildflowers and making me a crown.

It was pouring rain! He honestly didn’t care if you lived or died,Annabelle said, shaking her head.

Sophia finished off the last spoonful of soup, and Annabelle took the bowl from her, setting it down on the nightstand.

So what’s your plan now? Yadel Group’s been neckdeep in trouble lately.

While you were in a coma, the Westwood couple came by several times, but Uncle Richard’s people kept them outside and wouldn’t let anyone bother you,Annabelle said.

Sophia leaned back against her pillow, thinking it over. Looks like the Westwood family’s problems are already at crisis point.

Otherwise, the Westwood couple wouldn’t have been knocking nonstop, especially right after Lucas dumped me in the hospital, she wondered.

What does their mess have to do with us anyway? Honestly, I just wish the Westwood family would go bankrupt,Annabelle spat out through gritted teeth.

If Lucas hadn’t totally lost it, Sophie never would’ve had that close call with death, Annabelle thought, still simmering.

Sophia obviously hoped the Westwood family would collapse, too.

But it wouldn’t be that simple.

After all, plenty of beauty brands have watched their reputations crash and burn in recent years.

As long as their PR game is strong, they can get through pretty much anything.

People forget so easily. Throw out an even juicier headline, and no one will remember this mess.
