The more miserable Lola felt, the happier Noelle was.
After all, Lola was the one impersonating Quake, trying to steal Quake's spotlight.
Noelle wanted to let Lola know that the spotlight wasn't that easy to take.
The bet turning out this way surprised everyone.
As the crowd dispersed, Noelle also prepared to leave. Right before she did, someone blocked her path.
When she saw who it was, Noelle smiled slightly, "Mr. Lloyd, is something the matter?"
Raymond said seriously, "Ms. Lucy, do you happen to know Noelle?"
Noelle's heart skipped a beat, thinking she had slipped up somewhere. But then she considered the fact that her face and voice were completely different at that moment. There was no way Raymond could recognize her.
She shook her head and feigned confusion. "That name does sound a little familiar."
It didn't seem like she was lying, so Raymond smiled apologetically. "She's my friend, and also a very outstanding professional racer. I asked because I felt your racing style was somewhat similar to hers."
Noelle's expression stiffened. Even with all her disguises, Raymond still managed to notice the similarities. He really was a racing fanatic.
Noelle smiled awkwardly. "It's an honor to be compared to a professional racer, but I don't know her. Perhaps you can introduce me to her if there's a chance in the future."
Then, Noelle added, "I still have other matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave."
Raymond nodded, no longer suspicious.
Noelle had barely taken a few steps when she got a message from Raymond. "I was at an event today and saw a woman whose racing style looks a lot like yours! She's a foreign woman named Lucy. She said she doesn't know you, but do you know her, Ms. Quinn?"
Below the message was a secretly taken photo.
In the picture, Lucy stood in her racing suit, with her long hair flowing behind her. Her face was as beautiful as a fashion model's.
Noelle felt a wave of exasperation. Raymond really was paranoid.
She typed back that she didn't know her and blocked Raymond after that.
…
That night, the guests gathered in the villa's lounge bar.
The drinks there were free for guests and included a lot of luxurious and high-end wines.
Noelle hadn't planned on going, but when she saw that Lola was there, she headed over.
Lola still wore the mask as she chatted with several well-connected guests.
The one who was the liveliest in the conversation was Asher, the man who had asked Noelle about car modifications earlier.
Asher was truly fascinated by modifications, but it was clear that Lola wasn't there to talk about cars.
Many had assumed that Quake wore a mask because she was ugly. He hadn't expected Lola to be so attractive underneath the mask.
Lola smiled shyly. "Thank you. I was bullied for my looks before, so I prefer not to show my face most of the time."
Hearing that, Asher's heart overflowed with pity.
Leaning on his arm for support, Lola got up slowly. "I'll head back first, Mr. Miller. Enjoy yourselves."
Her slightly tipsy demeanor made Ashe worry a little. "I'll walk you back."
Lola hesitated for a moment before whispering, "Then I'll have to trouble you."
Noelle had watched everything unfold from the corner.
She smirked as she pulled out her phone, using her administrator rights to access the villa's surveillance footage.
She hadn't expected Lola to move so fast and latch onto Asher so quickly.
And sure enough, when Asher escorted Lola to her room, Lola hooked her arms around his neck and kissed him without any hesitation.
Asher froze, but didn't push her away.
Very soon, the two of them were kissing passionately as they disappeared into Lola's room together.
Noelle shook her head as she silently recorded the screen. "Clifford was really made to be cheated on."
