Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 48

"We're just stating the facts…" Hazel muttered under her breath, too intimidated to speak any louder. She had witnessed Noelle's methods firsthand.

Noelle set the blackboard she brought with her against the wall. "Here are the comprehensive evaluation results for each of you. Nicola's scores are also included. Take a look for yourselves."

Everyone glanced at the numbers, but they didn't quite comprehend what was so special about them. These assessment results had been released before they went to the league championship, after all.

However, it took but one look from Alexis for her to spot the key point. "Nicola's engineering skills are far beyond most of our team members."

Noelle nodded approvingly and addressed the group. "Every racer who made it to the intensive training camp is among the best, chosen from millions. Nicola's overall performance may be below yours, but her sensitivity to mechanical issues is far higher than anyone else in the team."

Her voice hardened. "On the track, even a one-in-a-thousand chance of a malfunction can mean total failure for a racer. Do any of you really believe you're better than her in that regard?"

Alexis voiced out thoughtfully, "I don't think anyone in Flame Speed Racing even comes close to Nicola's ability to detect mechanical problems."

That was actually a crucial skill for a racer.

Instantly, everyone understood why Noelle had made such a decision.

Jenna sounded guilty as she said, "So it turns out that Noelle let her join us to help us improve in that aspect. None of us had ever considered that."

Voices started chiming in, one by one.

"Even though Nicola's overall scores aren't great, we'd benefit a lot in our competitions if she could share with us her experience in diagnosing problems during training."

Hazel wasn't convinced. "But that alone isn't enough reason to keep her here. If her performance continues to be poor, she'll still drag us down!"

This was a matter related to everyone's interests, so no one was going to turn a blind eye to it.

They all turned to look at Noelle.

Noelle's voice was firm. "I have an agreement with Nicola. If she doesn't improve from a C to an A within a month, she will leave Flame Speed Racing voluntarily. She won't need a reminder."

Then, she crossed her arms. "As for the rest of you, if any of you perform worse than a newcomer like Nicola a month from now, then I'll start questioning whether you've been slacking off in training."

Noelle's commanding presence silenced everyone instantly. No one dared to talk back to her.

She had to admit that part of her interest in Derrick had come from what Noelle described. But now, she had no intention of relying on anyone else. She would have to work twice as hard to stay on Flame Speed Racing a month later.

The thought gave her a surge of motivation.

No sooner had the Turbolt Racing issue been resolved than Divine Group contacted Flame Speed Racing. They had drafted an advertising plan and were interested in hiring the team for a commercial shoot.

Nicola wouldn't be participating in the photoshoot this time since she had just joined Flame Speed Racing. And since Hunter needed to be away from training to deal with other things, he wouldn't be joining either.

As Noelle was used to seeing Hunter almost every day since arriving at the camp, she felt a little unsettled by his absence. But when she learned that he was leaving due to family matters, Noelle knew better than to pry.

After confirming the shoot details with the company, she gathered the team and prepared to head to the location.

Shannon lingered by the window, her eyes fixed on the departing Flame Speed Racing cars as a cold laugh slipped from her lips.
