Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 49

"Shannon, this commercial shoot for Flame Speed Racing is the perfect chance to strike back. They've put us in such a predicament that we aren't allowed to take part in any competitions for an entire year! We can't let them off so easily!" Levi Dunham of Turbolt Racing stood behind Shannon and spat through gritted teeth.

If not for the rule that they'd be expelled if they caused trouble at training camp, they'd have already taken revenge on Noelle and Nicola.

Shannon raised her hand with a confident look. "I've already spoken to my uncle. This time, I'll make sure Noelle pays the price."

A cold glint flashed in her eyes. Noelle would have to bear the consequences for provoking her.

The commercial shoot for Divine Group was set on a famous winding mountain road in Hardington.

Everyone had gone through the storyboard. Several different scenes were required. Not only did they need footage of racers driving Divine cars along the winding road, but group shots of Flame Speed Racing were also needed.

With so many people involved and a storyline to follow, the shoot would take at least two or three days.

As team captain, Noelle went over the planned shots with the commercial director, Elijah Maxwell, before heading to check on her teammates. They were in the middle of getting their makeup done.

The male racers had already been taken care of. For the ladies, their makeup required more attention to detail, especially for Alexis and Hazel, whose looks came out strikingly polished.

There were a total of three makeup artists, consisting of Tina Carson and her two apprentices, Lacey Garcia and Rosette Hill. Together, they were responsible for the three female members of Flame Speed Racing, namely Alexis, Hazel, and Jenna.

Seeing the artists busy, Noelle found a seat to wait and started scrolling through videos on her phone.

Before long, Jenna's look was finished. Tina had personally done her makeup.

At that point, Noelle was the only one left without her makeup done yet.

She expected Tina to move on to her after she was done with Jenna, but instead, Tina clutched at her stomach with a pained expression.

"Hurry and finish them up, both of you. We don't want the shoot to be delayed. I need to use the restroom. I've got a stomachache!"

As soon as Tina left, her apprentices worked even slower.

Noelle called Jayden over. "Go check with Mr. Maxwell when filming starts."

So Jayden left and came jogging back shortly after. "Mr. Maxwell says filming will start in 30 minutes."

For a moment, everyone in the room looked bewildered.

Everyone on the team, including the men, had their makeup done, except for Noelle. And now that she was willing to do it herself, she was being stopped. Wasn't it obvious that they were out to make things difficult for her?

Noelle crossed her arms and smiled faintly at Rosette. "Fine. I won't touch them."

She stood up to leave and continued, "But every day of delay costs money. The venue fees and equipment rentals could easily go up to tens of thousands. My team and I are fully cooperating with Mr. Maxwell's crew, but if your makeup team refuses to do the same, I'll make sure to report things exactly as they are."

Her voice was edged with mockery. "Makeup artists aren't exactly hard to find."

She had barely finished her sentence when Tina hurried back in, having clearly overheard. She wore a wounded expression.

"Ms. Quinn, even if you're the star of this shoot, you shouldn't push us around like this. I was just feeling unwell and needed a short break. Is that really enough reason to replace us?"

Tina wasn't the least bit worried. The filming crew would be the ones in trouble without the makeup team. Out here in the middle of nowhere, finding another team of makeup artists on short notice was nearly impossible.

Noelle glanced at her watch, arms still folded. Then, she fixed Tina with a cold stare. "If you're unwell, then just go home and rest. There's no need to push yourself."
