Tiffany’s POV
Seth was holding Ana’s hand like he was there to protect her from me, like he could. I almost laughed in his face. He’s pathetic and doesn’t even realize that he’s in as much danger as she is at the moment. Does he actually think I wouldn’t kill him, too? What do I have to lose?
I could tell that Eddie wanted to kill him now, but I have a few things I wanted to say to them both before I let him. I’ve been listening carefully for sirens. Since I hadn’t heard any yet, I think we’re in the clear. Ana had shut the alarm off with her code, so they probably thought it was just an accident.
We needed to leave here in fifteen minutes, but that’s plenty of time. Seth’s appearance here was like a gift. I could deal with both Ana and Seth at the same time. The issue was Holden. I guess I could knock him out. He was definitely going to report the incident to the police. But Ana’s husband might come home and deal with him right then, before he could even speak. I mean, walking in and finding Holden knocked out, and Ana and Seth dead. He would assume that Holden had lost control and killed them both. This situation was wrapped with a bow for whoever found them. I was happy that this had worked out because the trial certainly hadn’t.
“I’m so glad that we could have one last conversation together. I didn’t get a chance to speak to you at the trial, Seth,” I said as I sat down on the chair nearest him and crossed my legs. I’d calmed myself down. I wanted to let them both know how I felt, and since I had a captive audience, they would have to listen.
“What do you want, Tiffany?” Seth ground out.
“I want you to admit that you love me, Seth. I want a permanent reminder of our love for each other. I also want you to admit that I’m the best you’ve ever had. I’m going to record you when you admit all that to me. That’s what I want, so I can look back on our time together with fond memories,” I told him.
I was going to play it back every time get upset at the fact that he refused to accept me.
He has caused me more anguish doing that than I deserved. He was heartless in rejecting me. I was beautiful, and he was lucky that I was even interested in him. I was going to find out the real reason Seth refused to make me his before Eddie ends him. Because this bullshit about him not wanting me isn’t true. He wanted me that day. I know he finds me attractive; he clearly enjoyed being with me.
“Why would I say such a thing? It’s a lie. I won’t do it, Seth scoffed and leaned away from me.
He just didn’t want Ana near me, so he took the end of the couch. But at the moment, he’s in more danger than she is. I know what I need to do to get him to comply.
“Oh, you’ll say it, Seth, or I’ll have Eddie here shoot your baby sister right in front of you,” replied with a smirk.
He seemed shocked that I would suggest such a thing. “Tiffany, killing someone is nothing to joke about. Have you lost your mind? You’re already in enough trouble. Why would you sign up for more?”
“Who said I’m joking, Seth. You better do as say, or I don’t mind having Eddie kill you, too,” | replied with a laugh.
Seth’s finally realizing how serious this situation is. He’s never been in this kind of trouble before. He’s always been protected, but he and Holden had come here alone. There’s no one here to rescue them, and no one’s coming to help. It’s just the six of us, and they’re unarmed. Seth’s finally cluing in that I won’t be punished for this, because I’m leaving. I can see the panic rise as he finally understands that he and his sister won’t be walking away from this.
“Tiffany, you need to leave now, before you do something you can’t come back from. You can always appeal your verdict. You can get early parole. But killing us? Why throw your life away? You’ll never get out of prison. Just take our cell phones with you, and leave. That way, we can’t call the police. It’s your best bet. You can leave here today and head wherever you’re going. But if you kill us, you know my parents will never let you live in peace. They’ll never let you go. You already know that they, and Charlie, will make sure you die a horrible death to avenge us. Why take that chance? Just walk out the door, and go start your new life,” Seth stated.
“Actually, I can do both, Seth. I’m going to get away with it. I don’t need your advice, so you can shut up. I’m going to talk and you’re going to listen. You don’t even know my plans anyway. There’s nothing your family can do to stop me,” I assured him. I just wanted to give him a minute to think about that. His hands are tied. Nothing they do or say will affect what’s to come for them.
“Tiffany, you have something wrong inside you.
An undiagnosed illness, and I don’t think prison is the best option for you. You need to go somewhere that can help you receive the treatment you need. Somewhere you can discuss your issues,” Seth gently told me, trying to soothe me.
“You’re sick, Tiffany, and even though you try to hide it, it still escapes. That’s the reason I didn’t want to have anything to do with you. I could sense it, even if I didn’t call you on it. You’re manipulative and deceitful, and Holden saw it too. That’s why he didn’t like being around you either. It’s why I made sure not to be alone with you ever again. I knew that you would never stop, and you didn’t. You just caught me by surprise that day. I never thought the house would be empty. I knew Ana would head out to look for Holden. I just never realized just how low you would go until now. You’re much more devious than I ever realized,” Seth stated fiercely.
“Tiffany, you need to stop this, right now. You cant get away with it. How can you do this to our parents? Don’t you realize what the scandal is going to do to them? Do you even care? Or is this more of the Tiffany show, where no one else matters, other than you? Because I’m trying to be the voice of reason here. I’m trying to help you. You need to stop. Because if you kill two innocent people, you’re going to make national news. Seth was right, the Caldwell’s and the Billingsley’s will not stop until you are found. You need to listen to me. You have to turn yourself in,” Holden suddenly spoke.
“What, now you suddenly care about me? You never came with Mom and Dad to visit me in jail. You didn’t care if I rotted away. You only care about Ana now, for some weird reason.
Probably guilt, right big brother. Guilt for hurting her so badly. You’re just as pathetic as Seth.
How could you not realize what happened? She turned on a dime after the incident at the poolhouse. She couldn’t stand to look at you after that day, and yet you insisted that you hadn’t done anything to hurt her. Clearly, you didnt put any thought into what happened around that time, now did you? Well, ask her, Holden. Ask her if what you did to her was the single most hurtful thing that ever happened to her. I’m including what her ex-fiancé just did to her in the list. Because I knew how much she loved you. She loved you so much, she didn’t even bow out of the arranged marriage, even with all I did to her, until you left the country.
She bore everything I threw at her, and she still had hope, until you crushed it under your shiny dress shoes,” I attested. He needed to know.
I watched as his face changed from the arrogance he had at telling me what I needed to do to realizing the truth of my words. He looked down at Ana sitting next to him, as if willing her to speak. But she kept her eyes focused on me.
I could see the burning questions in them. Why had I told Holden that? It’s simple. I wanted him to suffer for the rest of his life, knowing that his and Seth’s choices had completely ruined Ana’s life.
