Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 93

Linton's eyes immediately shot to Liliana. She met his gaze with a mocking smile before turning on her heel and walking toward the curb to hail a cab, never once looking back. A wave of panic crashed over him. He started to move, to grab her wrist and keep her there, but Isabella's frail, tear-filled voice crackled urgently from the phone, pulling him back.

"Brother, I don't know what happened, but the Graysons have changed their minds! They're fighting me for custody! They already sent people to take Logan away! Where are you? Please, come help me. I'm begging you. You're all I have."

She was sobbing now, her voice frantic and helpless. "I… I've already lost Matthew. I can't lose Logan, too. Linton… please, help me. It'll kill me."

A deep crease formed between Linton's brows. He looked from Liliana's retreating figure to the phone in his hand, torn. Finally, he spoke into the phone, his voice cold and clipped, even as he started walking quickly after Liliana. "Isabella, calm down. The Graysons won't hurt Logan. Go talk to Mom. Have her go to the Grayson estate and get him back for you. I'm busy right now…"

"Linton!" Isabella cried, cutting him off. "Only you can fix this! They won't listen to Mom. They only listen to you."

He knew it was true. He glanced up and saw Liliana hailing a cab. She was already opening the door. He opened his mouth to call out to her, to beg her to wait, but the night wind swallowed his words. A long silence stretched. With a heavy sigh, his expression turned even colder. "Where are you?"
